Its great reading the history of the recordings and who remastered these soulful tunes with little equipment you got deep soul at its best. One love to those present and those gone
"engineered" would be a rather bold statement, as Studio One was still using the same old equipment in the late 70's as they were in the late 60's - a pair of two track decks, and possibly an old Electrodyne console that replaced the original Lang mixer. there's no way that Dodd could have provided anything more than a pair of separate tracks for additional production. "remastered" from the original tape would be a more appropriate term.
and The Heptones were pretty much done with Coxsone Dodd by 1972, when they went on to Harry J and had a couple of hits with him including "Book Of Rules". Leroy Sibbles, the leader of The Heptones and the man responsible for many memorable Studio One basslines, then emigrated to Canada shortly afterwards in 1973.
none of the material on this record was engineered later than 1972, and it was done by Sylvan Morris at Studio One.
"BEWARE" THIS FOOL (heavenlynatural) copys vids and uploads them on his channel fool i appreciate peoples time and hardwork thay put into the channels.
This was never done by any other label but Studio One. No other label had anything to do with this song or album. My father was a Trombonist for Studio One. Liberty baught the rights to reprint it for monkey money. This was at a time when Coxsonne was broke. And let him burn in hell for not paying his artist and musicians their fair share. So please save the history lesson. I know all too much about this game, I learned it before my father even hit the grave buried with his trombone.
fuck chris blackwell aswell fire bun him when him got big hotels and fuckin planes and shit leachin of the bac off Ja artists as you should kno then all fuckin guilty of tiefin
Actually, Lardsah, What you have there is a 1985 Liberty reissue of the 1978 compilation released by United Artists Records as part of their 12-part Anthology of Reggae series. Yes, it was specifically engineered and mastered for this release by Tom Moulton, but it was not done at Liberty or Capitol. If memory serves me correct, it was done in New York. Furthermore, the albums were reissued on Liberty because EMI bought out the United Artists music catalog after the label went under. > DLC
este es uno de los temas que yo elegiría si me quedara a vivir para siempre en una isla.
