I love President Benson. I don't have a favorite church president, per say, but he is one that I have always admired. He is the only man in history to serve on the U.S. Cabinet (secratary of agriculture 1953-61), LDS Quorum of the Twelve, and as President of the LDS church (1985-94). That's pretty incredible if you ask me.

It was written beforehand because it had to be translated correctly into many langauges as it was being broadcast live.

Why can't a testimony be written? Do you believe then that the Bible, for example, is not a testimony of Jesus just because it was written? Of course it is.

um there are a lot of mormons who have strong testimonies...many many i know i do...

and those rules they like to call standards...

and most students dont mind it..

and their are many many liberals in utah...

i am just not one of them...

It's nice to know there are actually some Mormons who aren't completely looney like the guys who head the Boy Scouts or those who founded BYU (with their extremely intolerant and restrictive rules for students) and their extreme conservatism in Utah. Nice to know there are at least a few Mormons with some common sense still in this country.

People in the LDS church are not crazy. I know I'm not, and neither is my family or anyone else in the church that I have ever met.

He was so right. I was there when he gave this blessing and only now do I realize how I have benefited by it. I have given this same blessing to my kids and hope that they will remain true to the fight for truth.
