  • Definitely the best performance of this piece. He starts off at a comfortable pace, softly and almost unassumingly, till he gets to the forte passage. Then his playing develops an imposing quality without losing its song-like character, which is characteristic of many of his performances. The rhythm is absolutely perfect. I definitely believe he was the greatest pianist of the twentieth century, and one of the greatest ever.

  • Oh Horowitz. So so good.

  • Well played and great dynamics.

But even a master makes mistakes!

At 0:17 As per the original score, it should have been p (piano bar #10) and then mf (mezzo forte bar #12, and then p (piano bar #14).

What happened to the last chord? That's only a staccato and quarter note time.

Other than that, the best performance.

  • @SHSATNewYork That's not a mistake, that's called interpretation. He's not just going by the book, he's making it his own. That's what you do when you play music.

  • @SHSATNewYork I can't imagine your reaction to Rach's performance.

  • thank you Mozart
