THE GTRhas around 280 BHP plus it loses a lot less power through the wheels unlike the GTI-R with permanent 4WD.

With a bar of boost (A fairer test) that GTI-R would have won.

Then again if you tuned the GTR it would be a different story again :)

Actually the Pulsar makes 230 bhp. Not 220. Even the guy on the video knows that. He says they have a 30 hp difference. It des a great job of keeping up on a course like this. That's why they call it Baby Godzilla. Yes. The "R" outclasses it but it's supposed to. It wouldn't have been the flagship of Nissan if it didn't but you see the Pusar is not a joke. It's AWD as well and a stout SR in it.

great cars but the oil car in total is jst pure sht, i run my rb24 carby with sr20 oil sump welded closed wastegate which pressureizes the clutch i shaved 1 of the camshafts flat so i get unlimited boost time duuuuuuuurr

Being a Twin Turbo doesn't really make it better. A majority of the guys that tune any twin turbo vehicle up, usually swap them out for a larger single turbo.

cars are stock look at the gtir wheels, at the end of the day a skyline was designed to destroy a 911 turbo and it did, the gtir was designed for rally and ne ver did that well, as a street car it is awesome when the gear box works and i would know as i own a 1992 gtir, fom now own americans and countries that dont get imports like new zealand does should shut the fuck up cuase u are actually embarrsing its actually sick oh and if u cunts complain look up the nationality of the best indy driver

2 Seconds on 1 lap is alot. It is about right. Both driven by top drivers and Tsukuba hardly lets the Skyline stretch it's legs. People need to realise that we only ever talk seconds when it comes to car differences!

ok retards stop posting. Because there both sr20's and both turboed and AWD. The Skyline has 50 more hp then the Pulsar. So they're both driving very well. Its a pretty good race but of course the Skyline with the extra 50 hp is going to win.

@p10gt Exactly...230ps. I didn't know about the Euro model. being detuned a few ponies. That's not uncommon though for Japanese manufactures to do that to exported versions. Thanks for the info.

i think people fail to realise the gtir was a good car as standard. theres 50bhp between the 2, which are both bog stock in this video, which shows up on the back straight. it looks like a best motoring or hot version video clip, in which on both shows they only use top japanese racing drivers to do the reviews...

The skyline is a heavy car, to maintain speed, he had to rush in the corners, Horrible driver eh? It's called understeer, and Skylines tend to have quite a bit of that, due to it's weight.

The skyline is commended for it's handling ability. Plus the RB26DETT (rated at 280PS, but has about 400PS) has about double the horsepower of a GTi-R.

My buddy owns a GTi-R and I can say they are not that quick.

well the sunny wasn't as fine tuned for track as the skyline was. it was just a powerfull hothatch.

you're right it wasn't as fine tuned as the gtr. it was never a track car it was a quick excuse of a rally car by nissan who weren't really in the rally game in the early 90's. so they slapped a turbo on a sunny and because there's no pedigree it never won a thing. powerful they are, i know because i've had 2. reliable they're not but like i said.. it didn't do too badly.

The GTI proves it's worth for sure.

I've got a GTR for a summer car but will try and get my hands on a GTi-R for the winter. The AWD system in them is better for winter use since it's a 50/50 bias instead of the GTR's variable/primarily rear bias.

I know that GTi-R drivers love to prove their cars are as fast as GTR. GTi-R is one of the fastest hatchback I know. It's truly a great pocket monster. However, it would be too much to ask that car to overtake GTR if both of them are in stock form. It's good enough to keep up on Tsukuba circuit. However, if you see them racing on somewhere else like Nurburgring, please don't expect the similar result ...
