  • Anyone know where I could get sheet music for this?

  • In Jesus' name, Amen my Christian family! Beautiful... I can't wait to sing with all of you in Heaven one beautiful day!

  • wow. this song makes me feel like i'm going home.

  • Awesome version of this song. I love to lead it.

  • @ElenaAdanwen The Church of Chist follows the New Testament.

  • i LOVE the inuktitut one like this too .......Ataniraa Qadviqtinga.........and i cant seem to remember the rest .

  • @Elsbeth1540 The Church of Christ does not use instruments, there was no mention of worshiping in the New Testemant with music therefore we do not do it. God Bless!

  • @3593David There are plenty of references to using specific instruments in worship in the Old Testament, also there were instruments that were not to be used. drums and tabrets weren't allowed primarily because they inspired a more worldly festive attitude then a heavenward one.

  • Who wrote this song originally? I'm trying to find the "6 String Praise" version of it. This is a cassette tape guitar acoustic recording made by Brentwood which is no longer fabricated, I got it when I was 14yrs old and fell in love with the music. Sadly I lost the tape somehow and have never been able to find it again.

  • I attend the Pickerington Church of Christ in Pickerington, Ohio. I love this version of this song, although we sing the regular version at our church. We use the Praise for the Lord hymn book. Thanks for sharing this song, it's one of my favorites! Congregational singing always sounds better than any instrument every would!

  • So beautiful, and it would be even nicer with organ accompaniment.

  • @Elsbeth1540

Nicer to whose ears, yours or God's?

  • to dakotagerman1: in response to what you wrote, please do find a church of Christ in your area. You will love the welcome you will get from them. God Bless you.

  • This is sounds as beautiful as the Hutterites and other Anabaptists (even as I see the Church of Christ to have in common with Anabaptist/Arminianism).

I feel I should join myself with the Church of Christ people as one of them. I feel this call from the call of the Lord. As I write this, the tears are coming down my eyes.

  • It would sound really good with some stringed instruments and cymbals.

  • @bradh716 LOL! Maybe a tuba and marimba thrown in, eh?

Seriously, this is a Church of Christ choir, so there will be no instruments.

  • @AmosPressley It's not a choir, it's a congregation. It's the whole congregation singing. But you are correct that there are no instruments.

  • @knightd94

A congregation, not a choir? Wow, it is all the more impressive then. This is a special arrangement. Is it in the COC hymnbook?

  • @AmosPressley there isn't a set "COC hymnbook" the church of Christ uses several different books. one of the most popular is Hymns for Worship (revised). there is a supplement that goes with it. there is another supplement written by the Stevens family, with this arrangement in it, that also can be used with that book. however, several different are used.

But yes, it is a congregation. we (the majority at least) believe in congregational singing, not individuals singing.

  • @knightd94

I think that is a good approach. I have seen far too many "special numbers" in church become nothing more than a form of entertainment, complete with applause, just like American Idol!

  • @AmosPressley that is part of it. singing is for worship, not for entertainment. it is something that you should enjoy, but it is not for that purpose. but we also sing as a congregation because the Christians were commanded to sing, not to just listen to it. to keep it as worship and follow the example, we sing as a congregation.

  • @knightd94

Singing as a congregation is indeed important. We are seeing more and more a different approach to a church service. People just pop in a CD and search for some sort of emotional ecstacy while a "star" belts out a number for them. Not sure how they can call that worship, but they are.

  • @AmosPressley to clarify, the Stevens are R.J. and Tim Stevens. however this arrangement can be found in other books too. the one I am familiar with is a little faster and has the male echo in all the verses. this version is slightly altered. however, the music isn't as important as the words! "Lord plant my feet on higher ground!"

  • WOW,!!!

  • My church sings the version without the male echo, and I really wish we sang this version...It's my favorite. :)

  • key of B for trumpet

  • am loving this....

    Lord lift me up!

  • this is so beautiful

  • thanks

  • Love this! Thanks for sharing. :)
