  • this pedal with a compressor on it ...will sound killer right? ... and also a dont know very much about preamp concept... this means that you have to used your amp clean always ? or just works well with some amps? please some can clear it out?

  • Been playing about 12 years, lots of styles, this is the best overdrive pedal I have ever owned. I've used it for about 2 years now, almost every weekend. Better than Tubescreamers, Rat, anything Boss makes, even Fulltone. It's expensive, but honestly, it just sounds so damn good! Run it through a good tube amp with a decent guitar and the only weak link in the chain will be you.

  • Even has a blue Led... AHH!! I want.

  • can i use any of those channels to act as a boost for my other pedals? i want to but the bb+ in front of my signal chain something like polytune > 535q > bb+ > crunchbox > reeza... i want to be able to clean boost or add a little more gain to the crunchbox and reeza during solos... is this possible?

  • So it would be easy to say this is better than an OCD or Ice 9?..Just trying to save some bucks but i think this would be a great investment....If i was gonna stay under 150 the OCD would be the way to go i guess??I play through a Jet City JCA20..Not a metal player either...classic rock etc...

  • @Chicostrat I know its a bit more money, but the versatility of this pedal is amazing, but not nearly as amazing as the tone it pumps out! It will be an investment you will not regret!

  • i have a dual rectifier and want to add some harmonic overtones to my leads and some tighter chunk to my rythms. would this pedal be i?deal for a high gain amp

  • I'm looking for a distortion pedal in which I can play diferent styles. I hate the Metal pedals that sound so "digital" and annoying but still, the genre is something I play with my band.I also like the overdrive sound for other sorts of songs. I was wondering if theres a way you can equalize the sound of this pedal to a closer sound of a distortion one (putting all the gain up, increase the trebel, etc.) but also equalize it to use the sweet overdrive sound it has.

    Thanks!

  • U guys have a review for the AC Plus?

  • Is it still out of stock?

  • yeah but we can't leave these witty comments at PGS.com

  • A guitar player's signature is our signature. You here a guitarist enough, one can identify a guitarist by it. Andy's gotten his into our heads, MAN!

  • great

  • im hearing part of eruption and i was waiting for him to finish it XD

  • WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.. awesome!! i like this..

  • so i could basically just skip over a bb preamp and get this and have it basically just do what the bb preamp does and more?

  • ето кайф. ето пиздец.

  • I just want to know if this pedals are true bypass? Because I interested in my next guitar rig in Xotic Pedals And or Keeley Pedals and OCD. Thanks.

  • @Dionydejesus they're all true bypass

  • This or the AC+?

  • hey guys,

can you tell me please when a preamp is necessary? i´d like to record something but first i need to buy a interface. Maybe the line pod6 farm?

I don´t know. But i don´t know what i need to buy to record without problems.

I hope that you can help me

    Thanks

  • BB+ or Suhr Shiba

    for Pink Floyd (DSOTM+The Wall)?

  • Been searching for a good od to go with my Twin. Just got one of these and my Twin can sound like a Marshall! AMAZING PEDAL!

  • could you describe your setting, please?

  • my BB is coming :D

    can't wait!

  • hi i really want to listen the demo of the emma rf-1 reezafritz but its private can you send me an invitation please

  • bb pre or tc electronic VPD1, or a Suhr Shiba drive?

  • How would this pedal sound with a Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue amp?

  • Sounds sweet. I'm using a electro hamonix pi with wicker switch and the seymour duncan twin tube classic...but I'm definitely thinking about adding this to what I have...maybe sell the other two or just the seymour duncan twin tube.

  • Got to tell you fellows, I´m not going to tell if de bb+ is better than other boutique fizz pedals because Ithink It's a matter off taste, but I've tried with tube and solid state pedals in to my diferent amps, some tubes some Solid state, and the bb+ is the only that sounds grate no matter the amp.

  • I agree. My main distortion comes from this baby, through a plexi and line 6 spider.

  • sounds muddy, as do all distortion pedals...

  • Somehow I really dislike the sound in this clip. I like the sound of my regular BB Preamp into my Mesa Boogie a LOT more... weird. But BB is a really amazing pedal from Xotic, kudos to them.

  • Too many goddam knobs, and you could never see those smaller controls on a darkened stage.

  • does anyone make a triple distortion pedal? lol i want one if there is one

  • Well the closest to that off the top of my head would be the Fulton GT 500,or the Trex spindoctor,The spindoctor has two 12ax7 tubes and 4 channels with buffer bypass,GT 500 is a preamp/boost,and overdrive/dist with true bypass, both cool though ya might want to give them a look.

  • A triple distortion pedal? Well Effect Pedal Boutique make a 3 channel SRB808

  • Carl Martin Plexitone - 3 in one. AC/DC in the pedal.

  • My friend Carl Martin Plexitone or BB+? Which one should I prefer?

  • this guy makes the best demos

  • for $250 american, this thing better give you a handjob while you play! alittle much..i'll keep my Fulltone OCD plus the natural overdrive of my amp.

  • I'd pay $250 for that.

  • I have the OCD also and I disagree dude... The OCD sounds great but it tends to cut the definition and highs if you are in high gain settings... I tried to fixed it adding other pedals but never worked... the BB plus tone controls react much better than Fulltones.... I am using a Suhr amp so is not an amp thing... BB plus beats OCD hands down....

  • I agree. The BB retains tone of the guitar much better and is responsive to your playing and touch

  • How does this compare with the Fulltone Fulldrive Mosfet?

  • it's a different philosophy - boost (second switch) in fulldrive works only when the pedal is on (the first switch), here you've got two separate channels, both with LOTS of options to use.

as for the sound, xotic is a bit more harsh or gritty, which I personally find more characteristic (instead of more genering fulldrive sound).

    BB+ wins it for me.

  • fulldrive is a tubescreamer clone with a lot of adjustments and a boost, while the bb plus is 100% original and is closer to a distortion...BB plus has too many knobs I have an fd2 and would take it over the bbplus anyday for a blues or classic rock tone

  • you go for the rc if you want blues and classic rock. they make 3 pedals for low/mid/mid-high. don't get them confused.

  • the reason the bb has "too many knobs" is because it is 2 pedals in one.

  • I got this pedal last year, and I must say it has become the "secret weapon" in my rig (right along with my HotPlate). I don't think I could live without it anymore. I use channel A even on cleans, it's ALWAYS on!!! I use it with both my TSL and my Plexi. AMAZING

  • so are you using the channel A as the booster and B as the overdrive?

  • this or bor?

  • what was the song at the absolute beginning of the video?

  • Won't Get Fooled Again- The Who

  • which guitar is used on this video a singlecoil one or humbucker one?

  • he says he's using a Les Paul

  • how does this sound clean?

  • who cares, its a dirtbox

  • BB is supposed to be a rawer and more agressive, while AC is supposed to be warmer and have a fullier tone. IMO the AC just sucks. The thick tone it's supposed to give is just a mess with no clarity. (some people might like that though)

RC and BB rocks the ass off any other od-pedal configuration I've heard. RC gives a nice bite to the tone

  • Got mine few days ago! Love it!

  • I just got my BB plus this afternoon!

  • This vs. Z-Vex Box of Rock?

  • hey nishville90... any chance you own both/or either of those pedals? 'cause both rock, i don't own either, and it's heaps easier to locate the BB in Aussie... don't want to forget the Z-Vex.

    love to hear your opinion

    regards

    sexyberger

  • This is by far the best sounding & most versatile drive pedal i've ever tried and those were many(incl.Fulltone OCD&Fulldrive, Okko Diablo,Ibanez TS-808, Boss SD1, Barber Direct Drive,..). I will probably sell most overdrive Pedals I own, cause this thing can do all i expect from a good pedal..I dial in a transparent low/medium gain rhythm sound on channel B and use channel A for solo boost. Both sounds are incredibly good. With this thing my long gone search has finally found an end...puh

  • 1:49-53 jumpin jack flash?

  • Xotic Pedals are about as good as it gets. The BB Preamp is to die for.

  • WOW sounds great!!!

  • this is one sick pedal...I want one bad!!!

  • this thing wories me :P

i REALLY want a BB-preamp, and by getting this i am afraid it will lack in the BB-preamp side of town :/

would be great if they could just say:

"OK, this is the BB-preamp and the AC booster in one lovely warm delicious pedal! no tweaks made here :)"

  • tested an AC+ today , noticed the BB+ has the same controls and the same features as the AC+ ... what´s the difference ?

  • I think the BB is supposed to have more gain and is a little more compressed

  • Are you kidding me, they sound nothing alike.

Okay, well a very small amount because they have the same guitar and manufacturer in the demos probably but still man....

I prefer BB but AC is ok.

  • These are back in stock and shipping at ProGuitar, com!

  • that thing is probally sick for shredding

  • song at 3:53?

  • what is that song on the beginning?

  • Baba O'Riley...by The WHO

  • Actually it's Won't Get Fooled Again

  • A har... The +.

  • Can I use this BB as a preamp in my G System preamp insert?

  • No you cannot. The use of "Preamp" is used loosely in the BB Pre and BB Plus. It's not like a conventional preamp which would convert a guitar signal to a line level, for use with a power amp.

    -PGS

  • Do you think that the Koch preamp should be a great choice?

  • @lberretta Yes, G system has preamp loop insert places, I use 3 different preamps on my G system. a mesa boogie v twin, a landgraff and a bluesbreaker. G SYSTEM has places for 4 different preamp loops.

  • Sweeeet sounding pedal! I love the Xotic BB Preamp but this thing has it and the GT500 beat IMHO. Great demo!
