What is the best arabic dialect to learn? some dialects are hard to learn i heard classic arabic is the best i don't know what i'm talking about now lol
@kush997 If you're trying to communicate with Arabs, try Modern Standard Arabic. It's not spoken anywhere, but it's understood by most Arab dialects. If you're trying to do something else, like read the Quran, for example, you might want to try something else.
@Taffy1974 Have you tried my course "Reading and Writing the Arabic Script"? Go to my website arabic-studio DOT c o m, and you'll find it in the online courses section. I go through the whole alphabet with tips on how to pronounce the letters. Hope that helps!
@EpicOB In English, we would only say "A man is big" where we were talking in a generic manner about "man" - i.e. what the archetypal man should be like. Broadly speaking, we would translate generic references into Arabic using "al", such as in the saying of the Prophet (SWS), "A Muslim is the brother of the Muslim" - both uses of "Muslim" here are generic, and so both have an "al" - "al-muslim akhu al-muslim"
This is very informative brother ...I have a problem i know to read arabic however i have no idea what most of the words mean!! Can you suggest some sites for me to improve my arabic??
assalamualaikum brother...ur lesson is pretty solid and easy to understand. but i'm taking an arabic class this year. you said that if the noun is indefinite then the adjective is indefinite. n if the noun is definite the adjective also has to be definite. but wht i learned is that if the noun is definite the adjective stays indefinite. now im confused. this is wht i learned,for example, al-baitu wasikhun, not al-baitul waskhun
it's funny..i took arabic course before when i was in university..i can still remember how hard it was..in fact i failed one paper and and had to resit for the exam..but this video made me want to start learning back as i've always wanted to..you made it very easy to understand by comparing it with english grammar that i am more familiar with..good job brother! and i hope you'll keep posting new videos! shukran jazilan!
This is a very good way to explain, i understand clearly thank you very much...It is a very good kick off for someone who wants to take on an arabic lesson...clearly explained, and it is a step by step process and the basics are important

So you have: definite noun with indefinite adjective = "THE x is y"
Is there a way to do, "a X is y"? In other words, is there a way to have an indefinite noun with an adjective attached to it?
i.e how would you say: a man is big?

@Jasper2428
What I'm trying to get at is...in English you can do:
A man is big.
OR
A big man.
Would "rajulu kabiruun" be both of those?
EpicOB 11 months ago
@EpicOB In English, we would only say "A man is big" where we were talking in a generic manner about "man" - i.e. what the archetypal man should be like.
