Just goes to show good player don't always make good coaches,,,!!!! Johnson brilliant lock in his day, probably the worst England coach in a long time.
@doogiedog1234 No, but a lot of people are getting REALLY fed up with the excuses and the assertions that things are going in the right direction when it is blindingly obvious to everyone who has watched one game of rugby at any level that Johnson (and, before he was finally dropped, Borthwick) that they are talking out of their arses. I think the interviewer did a good job here.
Johnson is the shittest england coach we've ever had. Sack him NOW. Why did we appoint someone with zero experience. Rob Andrew is an idiot for doing it and should get the boot too.
@BKsMassive How does captaining a World Cup winning side make him a good coach?? Put another way what does captaining a rugby team teach you about coaching?? Geddit?
@BKsMassive Johnson has the best team in the World does he? Since 2004 the IRB World rankings have placed England as follows at the end of July each year... 2004......3rd 2005......6th 2006......6th 2007......7th 2008......5th 2009......7th 2010......6th Pretty good for the best team in the World you have to admit. Maybe you should stick to soccer, or skittles.
@BKsMassive Prick. In `07, in july, we were 7th in the World. Prick. Why dont you go to the IRB website and check for yourself. Prick. Since `04 Andy Robinson had a win ratio of 40%. Prick. Since WC `07 Johnson has a win ratio of 40% . Prick. Who cares if we lost the Final in `07. Prick. All that did was convince those dickheads at the RFU, and you yourself prick. That everything was OK.
Which it wasnt. Prick. Go and watch some soccer. But before you do go to IRB.com/rankings...........Prick.
@BKsMassive ...Nah, we came second in the Final beacause those deluded knobheads in the RFU thought, despite 4 years of shitty results and dreadful coaching AND no real preparation that wed just sail through. We didnt, but to the amazement of the whole rugby world we ground our way to second place.
@BKsMassive i Think he meant ZERO COACHING experience! i agree appointing him head coach of a national side was idiotic, he should have first gone to coach a franchise side (if they would have hired him is another Question all together) and then if he showed potential then make him head coach. You don't reward a player with a National coaching job! Playing and coaching is two very different things, but good luck to martin and the English, coz they not winning a RWC again in the near future!!

Welcome to coaching international rugby Martin. Feel free to throw the towel in at any time. And by the way - how dare you refer to NZ as "possibly" the best team in the world. We are the Mighty All Blacks. The team you didn't to face in New Zealand.
Is this man sane?

NO KIDDING.
The last words were "Do that!"
Telling a head coach what to do?
The interviewer was...not polite.
He's not going to be gleeful, but a bit...hmm.
MJ had real composure not to retaliate with any attitude.
The tempering of a head coach. It's all part of the biz, but there's gotta be a way to hint to the interviewer to mind himself.
Interesting.
