  • wunderbarer REMBRANDT

  • 1:02 he says: I'm Rembrandt. Who the fuck are you?

  • 0:48 THE FIRST MYSPACE SELF PICTURE!!

  • just truly amazing.

  • ich liebe rembrandt wie meinen vater.

  • He is beautiful from a youth till an old age identically.

More truly - is expressive. THANK YOU FOR WORK.

  • Keep dreaming.. He's like 100 times better then you.. And uhmm learn to spell THANKS

  • he can allmost paint as good as me :)

  • /watch?v=Itmv3KDzNEY&feature=PlayList&p=9B39A5D557BF2F71&index=12 The black and white movie Rembrandt starring Charles Laughton. Watch it if you love Rembrandt, you will not be disappointed.

  • the artist who captured states of the mind and atmosphere which were legendary. is there another figure of him on his painting at 2 30 ?

  • A true MASTER

  • My god. From the very first early self-portrait shown here, Rembrandt achieved genius. Even his early works display the full breadth and depth of his vision and ability. What a contribution to this world!

  • @konzwambii Yes, there was something so wonderful and profound in these self portraits I daresay they are divine; just look into his eyes ... I see so much intelligence, emotion ... wisdom ... and sadness. Rembrandt Harmensz. Van Rijn lives!

  • one of the great masters on his technique

  • Thankyou so much for this video ! I cant believe i found a video with rembrandts self-portraits in chronological order ! At least it seems like most(if not all) of them are in that order :D And am i the only one who loves his sketches more than his paintings ? I dont know why, but i just love the way he can bring those sketches to life with only black and white colours.

  • Nicely done.

  • Master of Light !!!

  • placed into my playlist of Rembradt, thanks and 5*

  • But back to Rembrandt. His natural draftsmanship is mind-boggling. One can study any sketch by Rembrandt's hand for hours without boredom. With economy of means, and quite naturally, he conveyed space, form, light, depth, and gravity. All with profundity and humanity. He speaks to us on many levels. Still unequaled, and obviously, never shall be equaled. Rembrandt is THE Master.

  • If leery of van Gogh's later colorful impasto paintings, start with the achingly beautiful early watercolor/drawings, with their sublime somber tones, masterful composition, and idiosynchratic perspective and distortions. The women carrying sacks of coal is an early masterpiece. A genius from the start, though self-effacing and unrecognized.

  • Rembrandt was a genius. The greatest of all ever. I love him. Would be so nice to have lived in his time and be his pupil. He was a great personality for sure.

  • watch this! amazing painter! ---> /watch?v=Djd58mAEups

  • how he creates light is impressive

  • beyond excellant!! 5*****

  • Vincent van Gogh's remarkable draftsmanship was even closer to Rembrandt than Rembrandt's pupils. Both natural geniuses. The Dutch are incredible.

  • Right. I personally dont like Van Goghs Paintings that much (some of them for sure i like very much). But Van Goghs drawings were great. Thats what makes an good painter, he MUST be a good draftsman first. Van Gogh didnt paint the realistic style not becase he didnt know how to do it, because he just wanted to paint his style. I dont like painters that only can do abstract work. Gerherd Richter is great for example, he can paint photorealistic but abstract too.

  • The Dutch painters are the best!!!

  • it's 5 min. walking from my house to Rembrandt Museum and also the Van Gogh Museum!

Am I lucky to live in Amsterdam or what!!

  • ......you're really lucky dude!

  • Jealous:) But from Rotterdam it,s not so far either, but around the corner is best, any houses for rent ;)

  • i love rembrandt he was genius his paintings are just amazing its unbeliveable that somebody in 17-een century could do this. and i also love vivaldi this music is amazing,i thing that four seasons is one of the best composition ever had been written for violin with orchestra

  • i really like rembrandt especially when he paints metals and the strong contrast of the subject fading behind the background! it's seems that the first camera was invented during his time! excellect works! truly a master indeed!

  • Holland!

  • Great.

  • There are two time lines for art.

    BR and AR

    Before Rembrandt and after Rembrandt.

  • really like the self portrait at 1:45. Rembrandt is very richly attired in velvet and fur trim, he looks like a prince. The pose was inspired by a famous portrait by Titian.

  • Well Done - Thanks.

  • Es un gusto comtemplar este video y visualizar la obra de este gran maestro del Barroco. La musica, un mejor complemento no podia haber. Gracias! Felicitaciones

  • The greatest Artist in history! Just breathtaking.

    Thank you brendafohio!

  • Rembrandt's self portraits: an autobiography without words!

  • Rembrandt and Vivaldi: Vertigo!

Paz.

  • Thank you for yor reply,Don't worry,I hope you´ve understood totally my comment in spanish, I have not been in Ohio but I've seen photos and is very beautiful, excuse me for my imperfect english.

  • Oh yes, I understood. Of all the videos I have made the music on this one is my favorite. It is very beautiful. The self portraits are endearing. When Rembrandt loved he loved with his whole heart.

  • As to Ohio, there are lots of trees and farm fields, a few big cities and many rivers. The weather goes from too hot to too cold in the blink of an eye. I hate that. I want to go where there are beaches, palm trees and an ocean.

    Your english is great!

  • I´m me again, Thanks for de information about Ohio, I know now if I see your videos I will writte my comments in english

  • Excuse me, I've written "yor reply" and is "your reply", I´m sorry

  • Exelente, Rembrant y vivaldi hacen una combinacion perfecta que bueno que los has juntado has creado un video muy bueno !!!

if there would be double base and a godd guitarist - hell yeah! thx for the vid

  • Thank you for Rembrandt! His art is really amazing... I love it soooo much!

And special thanks for my friend Nina that sent me this beautiful video :)

    Best regards from Saint-Petersburg

  • Hi from Ohio :D I'm glad you liked!

    Peace.

  • Very good, lovely music for portraits used.

  • Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. :D

  • The Master of portraying

  • One of if not the best artists of all time no doubt. Thanks for the vid.

  • Thanks for watching. :D

  • To be more precise, the music is the Allegro of the Winter, of the Four Seasons of Antonio Vivaldi.

  • Nice! The music is the 4 Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi.

  • Wonderful, sensitive, brilliant work from the Master himself. Nothing could be better. Thank you.

  • The music is too much estrident. Video is terrific!

    Greta.

  • I always was a fan of his. Last year during "The Rembrandt year" I more watched his "etsen" paintings in The Rembrandthouse at the Jodenbreestraat. So wonderful. A gift of God he had.

  • I agree, he was a wonderful artist and he did have God given talent. Thanks for watching Shimon and for commenting. Peace!

  • brenda: Could you put up some vids of Turner and Delacroix? Also just wanted to say that I really like your vids, so much better than seeing people look like retards, just to get attention. Keep up the good work!

  • Thank you! I will see what there is of Turner and Delacroix to be found in the way of quantity and quality to be found on the net. That is what determines who I can make a video of.

  • I understand, alot of times when I find pictures, they're too dark.

  • Thanks for uploading this brendfohio. In my opinion Rembrandt was the greatest painter who ever lived. A German artist,[whose name i have forgotten] once said, "When i see Hals i feel like painting, but when i see Rembrandt i feel like giving up". His towering genius was such that you know how he felt.

  • mozart

  • His work was sublime. Who was this God that lived amongst us and walked the Amsterdam pavements nearly 4 centuries ago?

  • Come on. Relax. It is not because I dont feel that all his drawings sare o good that I mean that I, myself, is better than him. Of course not. You know pretty well that I do not imply that. This is not honest from you to make this link. It is not because I dont like a song of the Beatles, or a concerto of a classical composer that I imply that "I am better than them". This a manipulative and childish comment.

  • Please do not insult me ... but I dont think all his sketchings are good at all. His paintings are, of course, but not the drawings. They lack hand ability, I mean the first ones here shown.

  • Achei a resposta que queria a musica Antonio Vivaldi.

Tenho The English Concert Trevor Pinnock.

Qual a orquestra deste lindo filme?

  • I loved I have the same music in a CD, but I fogot what's the composer and name of the music.

    It's a great job.

  • okay i've heard summer, spring ,winter where is fall

  • i have seen rembrandt at the national art museum. beautiful. the dutch master.

  • you know van Rijn is pronounced like van Ryan. he my x12 great uncle. I guess all his art works went to his only daughter cause i didnt get any.

  • oh my god ! vivaldi was short?!

  • what a stupid remark lol!

  • I have seen some sketched self portraits of his and they were amazing. I envy you your experience. Peace!

  • Bravo maestro grande Antonio. The Best.

  • beautiful music

  • i love his sketches

  • I like his other movement better... the one that was on PIU

  • Cheers to rembrandt, one of, if not the greatest, painter that ever lived. The nerve he had, and the undeserved disrepect he got in his older years was a shame.

  • Did you know this year marks Rembrandts 400 birtyear! how cool is that ? happy birthyear Rembrandt! you still inspire.

  • Oh yes the art museum here in Dayton is having an exhibition of Rembrandt's works to celebrate! i can honestly say it would be worth the trip from many many miles away to come see it. Search for the DAyton Art Institute, in Dayton, Ohio!

  • Say, that's pretty cool!

  • Thanks!

  • The music is by Antonio Vivaldi: "Winter" (from the Four Seasons), 3rd movement (Allegro).

  • Thank you very much!

  • i think im playing a song called "Winter" in orchestra its not this one though

the one im playing is creepy sounding
