And Capcom didn't release Phoenix Wright in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, just because they would have to re-edit the speech bubble for English, in a single command.
Thanks for showing us the process that went into making that awesome menu, I thought it was really creative when I played the game. Can you believe this thing undersold like all hell? I guess that was to be expected, looking at Psychonauts' sales before it. BL went down to $19.99 NEW at my local Gamestop in less than six months, and now I don't see it there anymore. The game wasn't perfect, but it deserved better than that.
this game was freaking AMAZING, i love it soooo much, one of my favorite games of all time, its a great exploring game, you can upgrade your stuff, its hilarious, and it even packs it in with RTS in a 3rd person view. fantastic...
Haven't seen this kind of videos before. (Maybe something similar but not exactly alike)
And I think it's a great idea, It's perfect to have this kind of videos next to your showreel. They does not only show your talent but also how you went through it all, your thought process etc., it also gives a very personal touch and it even appeals to people that are not familiar with video editing and all that stuff.
I actually said aloud "That is genius!" the first time I saw the menu for Brutal Legend. That was possibly the most impressive part of the whole thing for me (why did they hide the fact that it was an RTS?! Why?!). But yeah anyhow, fantastic work man. Totally original idea, pulled off with perfection.
@daver360 It's not an RTS, it's an Action/RTS. The indirect sequel to Sacrifice. Double Fine set out to make RTS games not suck on consoles, so they added a bunch of action and accidentally hired someone from Sacrifice. The whole game started off as multiplayer only.
Then they showed the game to Activision, and the demo was NOT the demo we got. It was a fully working Stage Battle. Vivendi asked they hide the RTS thing and add a single player adventure. Then the lawsuit happened.
Thanks for sharing this insider look! The game was filled with personality and the same can be said regarding the UI Design. I too am a UI Designer in the game industry and it's always inspiring to see other folks in the same focus as me demonstrate their recent works.
pretty cool eork man, props

They should have left that dud take at the end in as a 'triggered 0.1% of the time' easter egg.

the UI was probably my favourite part of the game, the actual RTS/hack-and-slash gameplay wasn't so fun :(

@daver360 its EA That actually hid it b/c they thought that the RTS elements would deter people from buying the game. (Also it is not an RTS!)
