I remember being stupid enough as a 3 yr old kid to ask for moong dal roasted everyday n eating it roof top of my nani's house..just like chidiya in that poem.. Almost dancing with happiness when it used to be telecasted everyday afternoon on doordarshan... So much so that everyone started calling me chidiya..my fondest childhood memories race back to that time.. Simply love this poem..

Wow... my favourite..... it reminds me of other videos like "Kahin samay ka ek taara, mile sur mera tumhara, jungle book title song, mahabharat title song" etc.....

In those days, this was one of the most effective way to educate children on a lot of things. I do remember how me and my cousins used to watch this on doordarshan, sing along and implement it. There were many informative and educative programmes aired by doordarshan. Miss all those now....

This video makes me nostalgic, because 24 years ago with many friends in front of a TV we enjoyed it, because then TV set was a rare device and that used to produce programs which were very high in quality. At that time Doordarshan was our friend and assets of life now the Doordarshan has lost its identity because it flows itself with all other below stadard channels. We require such videos again in the Doordarshan.
