I lost a lot of strokes (and balls) last round because I'm not familiar with playing out of 1.5" rough as common on most championship courses around Atlanta. I'm going to practice some shots today and see what works best - sweeping 5 rescue or steep attack/short follow-through. I tried a 5-iron from the right side rough yesterday and it went hard left across the fairway into a hazard on the left side - lost the ball and I took a penal stroke. I'll get back to you on my results.

Re: your 6 iron out the rough and sweeping the ball is opposite of everything I've seen on
Youtube which says come down steeper. Wouldn't your sweeping iron snag on the rough?
