The only thing I don't get about this myth is why they didn't use plain old water to calculate the internal volume of the pen. Surely that's easier (cheaper) and more reliable/accurate than diamond dust?

Did they really think makers of James Bond didn't study their homework on explosives before making a movie? :-))

I doubt though, that effect would be similar on a human. The dummy is made of a homogenous substance, while human body is made up of layers of different densities. Parts may be hanging on the sinews and the effect would be somewhat incomplete and very nasty :-(
