Only thing he did that was funny was Taxi and that was because he had to follow a script that real comedians wrote. Some people confuse Kaufman with a comedian. He wasn't. He liked to get the audience pissed at him and to pull elaborate pranks that appeared real. Most stage performers do everything they can to avoid awkward moments. Andy Kaufman tried to make awkward moments.
