they tried to out-shine each other to many lead singers but no-one wanted to be back up singers sometime you have to fill in the parts that is missing, but they are all great singers.
All they needed was the legendary Patti LaBelle with the younger ones & that place would have burned down. Man I know her and Fantasia would have did some serious howling(lol) together for about 10 or 15 seconds and I would have been through.

I think it was Kiki doing all that screaming, although I agree I still loved the performance and was blessed by the anointing on them as they sang. Lil Mo can sing any day of the week, Fantasia is on fire. Kiki can be a bit loud as well as Coko.

There were spots when Everyone tried to sing over each other. But even the clarks do that from time to time. The thing is, they don't over do it. If you pay attention, Coko was the one always trying to sing one note higher than everyone else and trying to sing over everyone else's solo parts. This could've been done a lot better. But it's still somewhat of an enjoyable vid because of Kierra. She brought the message.

Well they did have to kind of improvise this performance, Faith Evans is originally on the song, but had to pull out of the performance last minute due to being pregnant. Love KiKi, but I think having Faith perform it with the ladies would have made a world of difference.

no unity as a group...the whole thing was just all over the place. I had to take out my headphones after all the screeching. Instead of being able to pray and talk to God through the song, their performance ended up distracting and annoying the listener from the true meaning of the song.
I commented on this before (HELLAS ago), I said Fantasia was the only one feeling it. I wanna add; I think the performance would've been just fine w/ only Fantasia & Kiki. Lil Mo & Coko were the ones doing all that extra when I look back at this vid.

Once everyone was out on stage together this ceased to be a psalm to the Lord and became a "one-up"-fest. Did they ever see the Clark Sisters perform this, and how Dr.Mattie Moss Clark taught her the importance of blending? To this DAY, while the latter are each vocal powerhouses in their own right, they understand the concept of unifying as one under Christ when they sing as a unit. All of this oversinging against each other only served to trigger my husband's Tinnitus.

This was a tragic performance. What happened to the harmony? Individually these ladies are all superbly talented (with Coko being the most distinctive and powerful of all in terms of vocal range) . But together?? It sounded like cats being slaughtered mercilessly in an alley. And I mean, cats being stabbed too. LOL
This performance clearly indicates the reason why these ladies are SOLO artists. They all wanna b the main diva...so instead of harmonising together, they all individually screech at the top of their lungs like its a survival of the fittest! I thought this was wonderful. They sound so good singing together. And loved the way the runs would weave into each other. Some of yall are seriously HATING! Take that mess somewhere else. You know you could not stand on that stage and do that!
Don't blame the singers for this train wreck of a performance. Blame the arrangers for not giving each vocalist a solo part and a place to shine without interruption. All singers (naturally) want to shine and want to be heard, which was impossible because none was given a solo part to sing! It's no wonder they were were all screaming. What a mess!!
This would've been a nice performance if it had been arranged differently. Each of these ladies is a quality singer (with Coco being the weakest) and should have, therefore, been given solo parts. They're all singing on top of one another and trying to be louder than the other because none were given a chance to shine individually. Being all sopranos with similar voices only made matters worse (although, I think Lil' Mo is the best of the bunch). This didn't work for me at all.
This "performance" pissed me off. Ministry was thrown out the window for too many egos crowding the annointing. We all know that they can sang, but That just made no cryin sense how they screamed me to a migraine. I commented on this before (HELLAS ago), I said Fantasia was the only one feeling it. I wanna add; I think the performance would've been just fine w/ only Fantasia & Kiki. Lil Mo & Coko were the ones doing all that extra when I look back at this vid.

They are all GREAT singers but together they sounded horrible. they should watch the Aretha tribute at the grammy's lean to harmonize and try again.

In my HONEST opinion, I think Fantasia was the only one who was really feelin' the spirit. Lil Mo & Coko (to me) were focused on makin' memorable comebacks, & KiKi just was for show. Tasia actually FELT the words as she sung em. Even though this may not matter, comments are supposed to show your opinion. &.. I LOVE THIS SONG.

This is the best collaboration I have ever heard. It isn't about who was upstaging who, it was about the anointing of this song, and the power that was sent throiugh this song. These are very anointed ladies and it doesn't matter as long as they're singing the praises of God!

Once everyone was out on stage together this ceased to be a psalm to the Lord and became a "one-up"-fest. Did they ever see the Clark Sisters perform this, and how Dr.Mattie Moss Clark taught her the importance of blending? To this DAY, while the latter are each vocal powerhouses in their own right, they understand the concept of unifying as one under Christ when they sing as a unit. All of this oversinging against each other only served to trigger my husband's Tinnitus.

Don't blame the singers for this train wreck of a performance. Blame the arrangers for not giving each vocalist a solo part and a place to shine without interruption. All singers (naturally) want to shine and want to be heard, which was impossible because none was given a solo part to sing! It's no wonder they were were all screaming. What a mess!!

This would've been a nice performance if it had been arranged differently. Each of these ladies is a quality singer (with Coco being the weakest) and should have, therefore, been given solo parts. They're all singing on top of one another and trying to be louder than the other because none were given a chance to shine individually. Being all sopranos with similar voices only made matters worse (although, I think Lil' Mo is the best of the bunch). This didn't work for me at all.

This "performance" pissed me off. Ministry was thrown out the window for too many egos crowding the annointing. We all know that they can sang, but That just made no cryin sense how they screamed me to a migraine. I luv how Fantasia and Lil Mo maintained themselves while Kiki and Coko were havin tantrums and tryin to see who can scream the loudest. U cant tell me the Clark Sisters wasnt pissed, because as a group, they all can holler, but they still sung TOGETHER. SMH..

That's par for the course in most black churches when you have four people that can sing. I do like that Fantasia tried to anchor them back to the song at the end. DID ANYONE NOTICE THAT? Rather than dog them out for what they did, why can't we just say that they ministered to someone?That hollering sound is very prominent in black gospel, so I'm not surprised by it. Those that had bad to say...post a response with four great singers that's both inspiring and BETTER. Otherwise,SILENCE IS GOLDEN.
