i just a got the jamman and it works great! but... when ever i turn on my distortion (i only have a foot switch that came with my amp, its a marshall 100dfx) my amp gets really fuzzy or when i turn on the wah and im on a clean channel it has a hint of distortion and im not sure whats wrong can any one help me? please!
@SORGENSxKAMMER It's a Marshall Valvestate 65watt. I don't use the overdrive on it as it's a bit too rock n roll rather than metal so at the time of recording this I was using the Boss GT-5 pedal through a clean channel.
I now have a POD X3 Live which I have to say is an amazing piece of kit.
when i record a loop with my guitar on clean and then try and play over it with distrosion it changes the clean loop to distorted as well. is there any way i can record a clean loop and then play over it with distrotion???
You would need to place the distortion before the loop pedal, meaning you would need a distortion pedal, not just a distorted amp chanel. Otherwise, the distortion affects all signal going into it, including the clean loop. Get a distortion pedal, place it before the looper, and turn it on when you want a distorted sound.
If your amp has an effects loop, put the JamMan in the loop, then when you use the dirty channel the JamMan will be after the preamp, so no clean loops you have will be distorted
Do you ever listen to any Celine Dion ? Her guitarist is the best ! Check out the movie "Titanic" if you don't know who she is. I really think you could add something to that type of style she plays. BTW I'm just kidding. I'm just leaving dumb comments because it's fun.
@bushinarin yes, it has XLR input on the back. I have used that option. I got mine for 200 off of craigslist. It was barely used. I use it at home for practice or gigging... it's just amazing!!!!!!!!!
I think I am becomming a Trivium fan just because of this video. I just started playing electric guitar and can't wait to get a looper of some sort. Great video!
I'm thinking about getting one of these things. I don't know, but it seems that you could transfer a loop into a multitrack program (cubase, logic, etc.) and edit it. Am I wrong in assuming this? Lemme know. Peace. Oh yeah, the video is great too.
wow dude that's awesome!!! hey, can the jamman record averything that you yut just recorded/played in real time so that you can store it on to your compouter..and cerate a whole somg with it?? TNX!
hey man i know that the jam man does have a usb port built in so you can put them on your computer. so from there i'm sure you can make your own songs, but it might be tricky since that is a loop machine, but still a great tool for recording music as well as having fun jamming.
I say the riffs make it badass, like you, but you still definately need the scream. Without it the song just wouldn't be as BAMF. The scream makes the song just as much as the guitars.
hey dude nice effort jus 1 question when you hav a loop running and ur playing over the top of it does the sound loose its quality? like when you plug two guitars into the 1 amp some stages the amp cannot handle wats being played and just goes clean if you understand wat im on about :P doz the jamman pedal lose sound quality?
Do you put it before the gain stage or after...in the loop. I tried one out at GC and when I played it in front of a high gain amp the sound degraded like a delay before the gain stage does. I did not spend alot of time with it and Im sure there is a learning curve. What you are doing with it is exactly with I need it to do.
the digitech jam man pedal have the start-stop function to record loops so you can record a loop then let it play while playing another loop or a solo
I'm really interesting bying the jamman but does the loops when loaded to the computer sound descent?I would love to build my own songs and share it even to myspace. Can the jamman do the job?
i have the gnx3 and gnx4, no big difference except for importing midi drums in such. Having a jam-man instead of that big ol clunker and messing with the computer crap on it is so much easier. plus it's a hell of a lot cheaper. plus he did a nice job, dont dog it man.
damn, when that first came out, i thought it would take you like 5 minutes to actually record something, but hell sounds pretty awesome, and the tremolo picking, i can only go that fast when i sit down for more than 5 hours, awesome
it's actually harder to downstroke like he's doing than it is to alternate pick. the sound is heavier and more consistent w/downstrokes - with his skill, i bet he could have EASILY alternate picked the song.
i seriously need one of these things, i have no one to jam with coz my friend is too lazy and has no perserverence so ....yeh lol only problem is im a bit strapped for cash at the moment so il try and find a cheap on ebay :)

Nice tight rhythm brother, great job, if you had the drum track, you could record it on there.
Check out on iTunes a album called Scream- Metal on drums.
It's drum tracks only and you can input your iPod into the aux. Input in the back, record the drum tracks or any song and rip to it.
Also check out the band Times of Grace, it's the Guitar Player from KillSwitch Engage and the Original Singer, great Album.
Keep up the great work.
