Wouldn't a tablet be hard to use? Since usually when we draw on paper we are actually looking at the paper, but when using a tablet you'll actually need to predict where your pen's going o_Oif you know what i mean lol.. and also if you stop half way and continue later, won't you have trouble getting it at the right spot? Since it doesnt have a screen on the tablet D:
@jonjonhyves well theres a site called forum.onemanga.com thaat sounds like wot ur looking for..and instructables some of the art on there is amazing erm,,, .kendo-worlddosnt hoste manga comics but it lets u put a link to ur manga and art so ppl can read it mangafox.com dose the same but is more deataled or there are grups on deviantart that spesholise in manga writers! ^^

Great picture! I'm getting a Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touch soon. I desperately need to media-ise my own manga. (If media-ise is a word). Is Manga Studio easy to use?
do you recon you could do a tutorial for drawing manga on the computer?
I am getting a tablet for christmas hopefully but more for animation then drawing, but i will do screen shots as such which should hopefully look as good as your drawing. So you recon you could put up a tutorial for it please? :P
I'm having a hard time moving it where I want it. It seems as if you just pick and start drawing their but for me its not going anywhere I want it and when I try drawing it goes off screen etc.
I just downloaded a demo on manga studio, it's pretty good i'm just having trouble because for some reason it wont respond to my mouse or pen tablet all the time.
How long did it take you to get used to the tablet? It's taking me honestly quite a while. Feels pretty stiff atm, can't draw nearly as fast I normally can on paper but still for the money it isn't too bad. I just like drawing on the thing im actually projecting the image onto if you get what I mean. Anyways, I was just curious at how long it took you to get used to the whole tablet feel? Oh and btw nice drawing, im also practicing Manga but im also going to practice with Photo-realism.
Not trying to be rude or something but I don't see anything that can't be done in photoshop :S. I mean I don't get why one should buy this software and not save money for Photoshop ...
@antonmorvolhert Well with this program they include a huge set of different screentones, backgrounds, pattersn and 3D models/objects. :D Very useful.
@antonmorvolhert photoshop is a photo editing program, this program is made to draw manga on, thats the difference. photoshop is very expensive, so if you just want to draw black and white manga, it would be waste of money.
@antonmorvolhert Yeah plus, whenever i try to draw with my wacom tablet in PS. it attempts to register a click and brings up a menu over the canvas instead of drawin my desired line, so every other time my pen touches down, a menu comes up, its really annoying and if youd know a fix itd be much appreciated.
@antonmorvolhert There are a number of comic specific tools in Manga Studio EX 4 that photoshop doesn't have. I used to use Photoshop with Comic Life to do my webcomic, now I use MS EX 4 to cover everything. The rulers are massively useful, especially concentric circle and perspective. The storyline overview is amazing, and there is a tool to change the angle of the paper so you're not drawing in an awkward position. And that's just a small sampling of the usefullness.
PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION FIRST ~ Just letting everyone know, YES I DID USE A TABLET so stop asking. I used the Wacom Bamboo one, size small. I know the drawing is messy and not my best but I was jus... ^^
@Daffie1995 Yup. There's a reason Wacom is the leading brand in tablets. I have an Intuos4 and it works awesome. Never once gave me a problem. The only program I had a problem with was Manga Studio 3 and that's because I have Vista, 'cause it didn't work with the mouse either.
I'm trying to decide between a bamboo fun medium and a intuos4 small, do you think the quality of the bamboo is good enough for an ametur artist and is the small size big enough? please reply thankyyouuuu x
@short1thaoi Im going to get a tablet, you dont know how much paper Ive wasted, and its really hard to get better with drawing when you cant get all of the details you want, you cant zoom in on paper, and the pencil is too fat. It seems using a tablet would improve my skills.
@KayStarkey The size of a bamboo doesnt really hurt the detail in which you draw, each corner corresponds to a corner of the entire screen, so when you zoom in, the tablet registers it too. But i can imagine it being a bit more comfortable with a larger tab size, although mine is relatively small. i wann say 5.5x4 inches? something like that?
@KayStarkey I recently bought the Bamboo Fun Medium and i love it! its the exact same size as my laptop so i can fit it into my laptop backpack. I'm still getting used to it but im sure its perfect for an amateur artist as you stated
well, my laptop, the screen spins 180 and you can fold it down, so the screen is facin outward and its closed. so its touchscreen and it doubles as a drawing tablet. but the bamboo tablet just takes getting used to. if you are looking for a laptop, get the hp touchsmart notebook, thats what I have, and its alot cheaper then buying a new laptop AND a tablet.
damn your good, i tryed the bamboo pen and touch, i think its quite hard to draw with it, but it is geting easier if you install the presure program and a better painting pogram than windows paint ehh?
hey man your pretty good id like to show you some of my MS work and maybe chat or what not anyway i have a quick question and i really wish you'd reply............."i like the manga style you used to draw this so can you let me know if there's a specific name for it " any way write back soon

Wow, amazing i have a tabel too i just need the program....can u tell me what brand name of your tabel is??? and i wanna know all programs you use to draw manga plzplzplzplzplzplz
Manga Studio EX costs around $300, which may seem like a lot, but it's WORTH it.
Anything other than a Wacom tablet is basically worthless, and you're looking at $100-$150 for a tiny entry-level tablet, or $300+ for the smallest pro-level tablet. (The Intuos3) And if you want any decent size workspace, be expected to pay even more. ($520 in my case, for an Intuos3 SE 9x12)
And if you want one of their LCD tablets... Better start taking bids on your major organs. The Cintiq 21UX is $2000.
I've been working alot with Manga Studio ex, it has its features but it's not that much better than for example "Sai" the free fan-made program. Try it out if you dont want to spend $300.
Yeah, I totally agree. HOWEVER, SAI has a lot of the good features of ComicStudio, but it's more geared towards color works and CG, lacking the more manga-centric features.
Afterall, ComicStudio is just meant to be a purpose-built recreation of the traditional manga drawing process. Believe me, I still use Photoshop ten times a day. :)
Hey I just purchased Manga studio EX Pro 3.0 full version for AUS$121.00 at ebay. This seller has them for PC's as well for about USD$100-the cheapest price I've seen anywhere but you got be quick...

@Hypna88:
