Hey, i want to buy my first telescope and i was thinking of this one: Orion SkyView Pro 120mm EQ Refractor. It has 120mm lens and 1000mm focal length f/8.3. Is this a good telescope or would you recommend a reflector or something else?
@comicsce10 Explore Scientific 127mm f/7.5 Air-spaced Triplet ED APO Refractor. It's the best Visual observing refractor, imo. It's a little expensive, though ($1,900)
@SoumyaSumitra : not very far. only objects that are closer than 12 million light years away :D i also have an instrument that shares the same focal lengths, and at 20x i could easily see M81 and other nearby galaxies. brighter nebulae and clusters also show up very nice in the field. you can try add a little more power either by using a shorter eyepiece or by adding a barlow lens, to get more detail. clear skies!
Hi!I have a telescope with 15x magnification, what planets can i see when using it??I don't know how to find planets because i'm only 14,please give me some tips, tnx!!
actualy one of the things you might be able to help alot of astronomers is with what you can actualy see compared to what are exposed photographs (ie. star/galaxy photos made by timed exposure).
so is it like possible to see like mars and stuff in a telescope becus im getting intrested in astronemy and im wondering how much does a telescope cost?
@rockguitar312 A good starter telescope is a good binoculars. I would suggest to save around 80 dollars and buy a binocular from 'Optcorp'. The best all round telescope would be the Celestron Skymaster 15x70 because youll be able to use it for day and night time use. But also, youll need a tripod.
@rockguitar312 Don't give up kid. If you bust your ass off working for a whole summer or something you could afford one. You can get really good reflectors for $500 or less. I bought a 6 inch Newtonian reflector for $420 US and it is the definition of bang for your buck. Dobsonians are also just as affordable, if not more. Do it up, kid. You won't regret it.
@rockguitar312 Try looking for an astronomy club in your area. Its a great way to get familiar with telescopes and start learning about the night sky... It probably wont cost you a dime either ;)
@rockguitar312 what Heven said is correct plus there's the Fact that a lot of clubs have loaner scope..so if you prove to the members that you are Responsible with and around their scope..you can probably get the club to lend you a scope..plus some members might be willing to come get you to go obseving with them
@rockguitar312 i will tell you the cheapest most portable and best quality of it's kind! It's the Skywatcher Skyliner 6 inch it's quite big and great quality and it's around 300 dollars. That is pretty cheap compared to the thousand dollars robotic telescopes
