  • New York City? ( -.-)

  • does marissa tomei speak like that in my cousin vinny

  • Sounds like Yiddish

  • You guys, obviously this is an exaggerated accent, but there are plenty of parts that call for a heavy accent like that, and you can always alter the way you say it to be less extreme. I thought this was really helpful, thanks!

  • That's very stereotypical.

  • This is annoying.

  • idk why people are saying we don't speak like that when we actually do. you just don't notice it. sure she may be overdoing it a little but we do have that "ou" in our vocab, dude.

  • just stop

  • @collegemuse Lol.

  • I know someone from New York and she talks just like this. You guys, keep your pants on.

    It all depends on how heavy their accent is, geez.

    When learning an accent, you exaggerate. Jeeeez.

    This is helping me for an audition for a play, thank you c:

  • my cousins live in NYC and have all their life they dont speak like that!!!

  • We new yorker's don't sound like that. That's not an New york accent. more like boston. If your gonna' teach accents...Teach em' right!!

  • THANK YOU YOUR AMAZING MAKEING NEW RESURCH FOR MY YOUTUBE TO COME UP WITH MORE ACTSENTS I DO ALOTE BUT I NEED MORE TO WORK WITH I LOVE U FOR THIS<333

  • That's jewish accent.

  • I think those Aw's are a little extreme although I am from Philly. I do say though (thawet) and caught (cawet) dawg like that. I hate how westerners would rhyme all those vowels as thot/cot/dog/coffee instead of cawfee it's annoying. I think it's just the further up it's more extreme.

  • this is really helping

  • Lmao I'm an African-American New Yorker and as I'm saying the sentences with you I hear my accent and I now realize New Yorkers talk like Mafia gang members or American Italians lol.

  • im from britain and i didnt know people from new york were italian?

  • i live in new york that is the saddest thing i have ever seen

  • Comment removed

  • We dont sound like that...this is a complete joke. maybe people from the50's-70s or even 80s but not in 2011.hell no...and it also depends on whether you grew up in a white home, black home,west carribean home, spanish home, asian home...theres never 1 new york accent.

  • People from NYC really don't speak like that..

  • nobody speaks like that!!

  • I tawk with a Noo Yawk accent. Retired basketbawl playah Chris Mullin is my idol. That dude has the thickest Queens accent evah. He was a great shootah. But he was also a boozah. Now I am going to take a break with a chawklit doughnut and a cup of cawfee. FUGGETABOUTIT!

  • This woman is full of crap - she has little idea as to what she'd talking about, and is she is a NYC native something is wrong, I'd say there is NO way she is.

  • she isnt any gd we dont say coffeh

  • she sounds like Vinnie the panda off the fox's biscuits advert.

  • I'm from longisland and i can tell u now this lady is exaggerating the accent a little to much lol dumb bitch why don't u stick to your own dialect

  • I thot I thaw a putty that!

  • wtf is this crap.. get outta heeeeeeeaaa

    and what does she know about the lost boyz

  • She just needs to cut the "dialect lesson" because she sounds like she is from fucking Texas trying to speak in a Northern Accent.. I would beat her ass with a damn brick if I could. BItch get back to your fucking rodeo with your Larry the cable guy lookin ass..

  • i wanna slap u..

  • probably it´s really just a tutorial for actors performing a stereotype like some people already told...I think NY it´s too international and multicultural to fix a speacial dialect

  • Give me some Danny Aiello or Woody Allen interview and that's it. Don't bother to get lawsst and break youah jawwwsss.

  • this is totally stereotyping...everyone has their own accent...i live in the south and i dont dern speekd like thiiiis

  • As a person from New York...just no....no.

  • This reminds me of Jersey Shore

  • Smile nanny mcphee(:

  • Wow, I know what, five people from NY and none of them say OAFFEN nor LOOAST... Great lulz though.

  • Ugh, I think that speech makes you look stupid.

  • Why would an New York citizen talk like this? I'm from sweden and have been in New York a few times, and NO ONE talks like this ._.

  • WTF!?

  • You're fucking kidding me right?

  • i find this offensive

  • number keys:

    1= blowing air

    3=gettin mad

    4=angry

    5=wat u say

    6=ya!!!

    7=lol

    8=cleanup on aisle 3

    9=rapid eye blinking action!!!

  • Wait, you're not Janice...

  • @larrykingofspace LOL. She sounded a bit like her at one point. God, what made this woman think she was an authority on accents. Her 'British accent' (of which there is no such thing, there are accents from Britain but not 1 British accent) is truely awful, cringeworthy. She could have some sort of mental disability or maybe she's just up her own ass! FAIL either way.

  • Reminds me of the Nanny :)

  • This is NOT an insult to New Yorkers. this is how actors and actresses learn accents to play a NYer. Maybe she is exagerating so people get the entonation right. (some people have not ear for accents, or music).

    Do you think Joe Pesci speaks with that accent all the time? C'mon people, everybody wants to be so "politically correct" all the time, that you go to extremes. Grow some character and bear it!

  • @GI0VANITA well said. I'm acting in Guys and Dolls soon and they're NYers and I need to touch up on my accent and this helps =) like you said theres too much PC world around now it's ridiculous!

  • @GI0VANITA none of us are saying we don't have an accent...we're just saying it doesn't sound like this.

  • This is NOT an insult. this is how actors and actresses learn accents to play a NYer.

    Do you think Joe Pesci speaks with that accent all the time? C'mon people, everybody wants to be so "politically correct" all the time, that you go to extremes. Grow some character and bear it!

  • yea but shes exaggerating her accent

  • Sounds more like Jersey lol.

  • this is so insulting and i'm just in the suburbs. this is SO stereotypical.

  • this sounds like Janice from Friends.

  • You're a fucking joke you know that?

  • u suck im from new york and so is my dad your not even close!

  • is this lady serious? this sounds more like the nanny on crack living in boston lol

  • Comment removed

  • As a native New Yorker, I'm finding it very hard to place where in the tri-state area she would be from. I would assume originally from the midwest, moved here last year and watched to much of the Nanny.

    Moreover, it sounds more Boston-ish and nasally, if you know what I mean. The New York accent is a tad tougher...

  • WTF rednecks are the ones that talk like that

  • dont know nothing about new york, but my whole family is from rhode island and they talk just like this.

  • this is really helpful! thank you! ^.^

  • heyyyy its snookie

  • She's doing great ... for someone from Iowa.

  • Lol I think she's pretty awesome

  • Comment removed

  • @xSasuNaruAmutox

    cos it is supposed to be an accent from NEW YORK?

    :> makes sense,?

  • thats a new jersy, or boston accent. i live in New York, and no one talks like that. BTW im from near the border, not the city.

  • are you kidding me. this is not a new york accent. more like an italian from brooklyn u dum bitch! you been watchin jersey shore to much u sound more retarted then they act. please throw yourself off the empire state building...

  • @jasontravis93 why not just get extremely overly angry for no apparent reason, & wish death upon the lady? Good one. Don't worry, no one thinks New Yorkers have ANGER ISSUES!! I'm a born and raised Brooklynite - when she said the word 'flawless' I almost fell off the chair laughing with how wrong it was - so she does a bad job. So, it's incorrect. But you call her a bitch and then try to say she sounds "retarded", but you spell it wrong, use the wrong "then/than", and tell her to die? Aye. Dumb.

  • @BreKali Aye, blow me

  • this is an insult to anyone from new york

  • @3521soda

    possibly, but she's right on point.

    Keep in mind she is not insulting you, its like a tribute!!!

  • @3521soda This is an insult to anyone from NYC and Northern NJ (specifically Bergen, Passaic, and Morris County).

  • @3521soda exactly. thank you.

  • @3521soda datz what im sayin

  • For a good New York accent listen to: Judge Judy, Walter Matthau, Jackie Mason, James Cagney. For the best example of a Brooklyn/Jewish New York accent watch Lee Grant in the brilliant film "Detective Story" (1951).

  • Just watch all mafia movies with Robert De Niro % Al Pacino....

  • im from new york but from upstate not all of us sound like that and and they dont all sound like that in new york city

  • People are forgetting that a lot of people don't know the nuances of eastern seaboard dialects...I'm from Oregon, and just by the lack of proximity I don't know any better and I think this sounds fine. This is obviously for people who have never picked up an accent before, NOT to sound exactly like every person from New York.

  • Shes doing new york meets boston.Thats from a native Bronxite.

  • muff cabbage

  • lol bein southern, i laughed my ass off lol

  • shock and awe of your beauty

  • beautiful

  • @BreKali lol that was priceless!!!

  • this is horrible, let us new yorkers and our natural language be. seriously dont try to teach other what they cant have, let them be jealous of us =P. byeee

    sincerely ~ NYer that doesnt look like a chewing horse when she speaks.

  • you sound more new jersey than new york

  • that sounds more sterotypical new jersey than new york

  • Stop being dipshits. Of course this is a fucking stereotypical accent. As if all the millions of people who live in New York have the same accent...

  • @SpyreWorks no shit, many people immigrant here so of course there are different accents. she is referring to the old New York accent. Like in the movie taxi driver with rober de niro. carrie from kings of queen and her father, the father's walker. i still hear this accent, my old friends talked like this "what are you tOlking about'

    "gotta prablem." and i think when you arrive in brooklyn or new york , i think, a sign says "forget about it" you cannot say it without a NY accent, itz a NY term

  • Hey lady

    Are you effin kidding me??

  • you sound like shit.

  • you watch too much jersey shore. Ive lived in NJ for everyday of my life and i have never met anyone who ever spoke like that. btw damn she has some serious eye bags

  • no one actually speaks like that. except in Jersey Shore lol

  • Comment removed
