I reckon you did play by ear...it's not impossible to play songs by ear, especially when you're translating it into a piano piece. Some people have a natural talent for it whereas others strive for the ability to learn songs by ear with perserverance and eventually achieve it.

@guitarmolester Not to be rude, what is it about this one video that makes people believe I can't play by ear? As you said, and I completely agree, this is only an OK version with many issues that need to be worked out. If I had learned this with sheet music I would have known the correct chords at 0:58 and all repetitions of that section. There must be some sheet music really similar to what I played here; I swear I haven't used any. Anyway though, thanks for the compliment

May I suggest letting off the sustain pedal a bit more? It's very muddy. Otherwise, you're doing pretty good, but I would love to hear it played again :D I used to hold the sustain pedal down all the time too, but I learned to focus on legato touch more, so I don't rely on the pedal as much. Good job! p.s. keep learning to read music, it's the most useful tool any musician has, even if they "play by ear".

Treble is the same as bass, just move the notes up 1 line or space from the bass.
