    If you will please allow me to correct? A wall outlet is NOT a source. A source of electrical energy, is the voltage source itself, commonly referred to as a source of e.m.f. - electro-motive-force. Essentially it is the force that moves electrons which constitute current flow in an electrical circuit. Examples of sources of e.m.f. include: generators - ac or dc, photovoltaic cell, electrochemical cell, thermocouple and peizoelectric transducers.
