Ya, Lensky so involved with his image, his "honour" as HE sees it, but his love is NOT his first priority, despite the chest beating about it. How many of us, use our love as an excuse to whatever, instead of tending to the quality and reality of the real thing, our love and how well we do it and receive it?? Wait'til you see the end, the same question in another form. This became a fabulous opera by Tchaikovsky, if you don't know it..go find it!
Oh jeez... I feel so bad for both Lensky and Onegin, but Lensky is being stupid by insisting, "No reconciliation!" And Onegin shouldn't have tried to cause trouble in the first place by flirting with Olga.
@265472 that's what honor means my friend. onegin called olga ''easy", lensky has to protect her reputation, its his fiance. onegin is a jerk here. there were consequences for undignified behavior. i wish it was still true today, people wouldn't be running their mouth so much
