According to our calender it is 2011, but the Mayan calender puts us several years ahead, therefore the apopolyps should have happened several years ago. Though yes, there are striking predictions about celestial placements, there are also striking errors in their predictions, and also note the calender came from a god worshiping human sacrificing society.

@TheScienceiscool brother although u have some valid points u r WAY outta ur league. i work with the SHIFT OF THE AGES crew who have been filming a doc with the Mayan high priest. while no one knows what will happen when, ANYONE aWaRE can observe the multiple exponential shifts we are experiencing economically, geopolitically, environmentally etc. the directors aunt works for NASA & has confirmed something BIG is coming. u can ignore the wisdom however i recommend connecting 2 the creator!

Though both arguments are compelling I stick to my opinions unless I get solid evidence otherwise. Lets just agree to disagree on all of our arguments this and that chemical one we were having. @TheScienceiscool every sacred ancient text mentions THESE times not just Mayan cosmology. human sacrificing is a lie. the mayan high priests were into slaying the ego & the temple of the jaguar depicts this. so much misinformation from minds that were indoctrinated by the catholic church. people are so often blinded by their own perceptions they cannot see the simple truth. this is my main issue with most science today. even in quantum mechanics we see that the observer influences the outcome.

@TheScienceiscool Carl Calleman is probably the foremost scholar on the Mayan long count calendar, he matched the Gregorian calendar to the long count & has it ending in late october 2011. the major shifts have been taking place since the harmonic convergence in 1987 & accelerating up 2 today: 5.7 earthquake on the eastern seaboard +hurricane. the tectonic plates are moving at a greater frequency & intensity at the same time we are creating more war & damming the Amazon, its coming 2 a head!

the way i see it: we ain't seen nothing yet. We do not need the Mayan calendar to tell us the economy, corruption, financial institutions and corporations are defunct and a failed system, it is all being played out on TV. Mayan cosmology is about CYCLES OF ENERGY, Night 5 which ushered in the crumbling economy was right on schedule. a friend of mine personally spoke with Arnold Schwarzenegger recently who stated the California economy would reach it's bottom by summers end, June or soon.

the Mayan Calendar is about cycles of energy not necessarily prophesy. night 5 which ended in Nov. '08 ushered in the beginnings of the current economic unraveling. i feel we have not seen anything yet as far as SYSTEMS that are out of integrity going to the wayside. you see this with gov. trying to bail out antiquated ways of being; inefficient cars, corrupt corp. & banks/housing bubble, futile wars, in Hollywood studios & networks are going thru their own metamorphosis. if not June, soon!

I was interested how (or where to look) to understand the calendar in deeper detail. To greater understand how it could be possible to predict such specific events from the calendar itself.
