So are these good with any type of paints like acrylic and oil and watercolor paints? I do not mean for putting it inside the piston I just mean dipping it in the paint and painting it-also how do you control how much water comes out of the brush?
@wingedprinceofrose Just consider it as regular brush. It is too soft for oil. Liquid acrylic or watercolor are OK. There is a knob on the end of the brush just turn it to squeeze more water out.
This is so cool! I never liked using the watercolor pans before, but this could be usefull! Um, out of curiosity, after you're done with one color, how do you remove that color off the brush before using a new color? Do you wipe the brush on a tissue or your hand?
@TriforceWarrior Yes, you can wet the brush wipe it out with paper towel or tissue when you change color. You may use multiple brushes so you have a separate "flower brush," a leave brush, etc., so you don't have to clean your brush when you change color. That is why we sell them in set of 2, 3 ,5, or 7 brushes at a very reasonable price.
@manicniceguy They are just like any other natural hair brush. Main care tip would be to clean and drain them after each use. And do not use the plastic cap after opening the new brush. For portable version brush pens, please do not insert the dry brush into the metal cap because it might not fit in. Make sure the brush is pointed and not going to touch the cap. Please gentally insert the brush into the metal cap and avoid crushing the brush with over pushing.
@HanaPainting Yes, the synthetic bristle or mixed ones could be used for waterbased liquid acrylic paints. But I won't fill the reservior with acrylic paints. You may use water in the reservior and paint with liquid acrylic paints, it should be OK. What acrylic paints are you using? They are not suposed to be used with those heavy body acrylics. Thank you for your question!
@roooxanne No, never use india inks because they contain shellac ( a kind of resin) which will degrade the hair of your brush. Use inks made in China, Japan or Korea. You can find them at Blue Heron Arts online store.

Can you add regular ink if you can't what would happen
ddaarrd 6 days ago
@ddaarrd The regular ink for pen will cause the brush hair to decay. so please use brush ink only.

Thanks, I was wondering if these brushes could be used with Sumi ink. And I didn't know if you could leave the water in them or not.
savillah 6 months ago
@savillah Yes, it is designed to use with sumi, not regular fountain pen ink or indian ink though. Yes, you can leave the water in it. Thanks!

Shorten this ridiculously long ad to two minutes, so that 120,000 see it instead of 12,000. You are really clueless about marketing.
