@blackfireknight1 Hi, thanks for your question. Yes, this technique translates to Pro Tools 9 and any other music production software as it's more about the editing rather than any specific software function. Thanks for watching!
@RoQuEr93 Hi, thanks for watching! Yes, try this mixing technique out on vocals, guitars even a bounce of the final mix to add overall stutters as accents.
@WriterWolf92 Hi, glad to hear our tutorials are helping out. Let us know if have any tutorial suggestions by writing to us at Questions@WinkSound(dot)com. Thanks for watching!
I'm loving all this stuff you're coming out with to help us out, it's really nice of you :) Kinda bummed out cos I got my hands on a bunch of VST plug-ins that sound awesome, then I realised they don't work in ProTools... is it worth getting the VST wrapper, or are there other plug-ins that are good for use in ProTools? Or is it better to just stick with what Digidesign give us?
@godmonster333 Hi, thanks for watching! Glad the tutorials are helping out. It's perfectly fine to use the VST wrapper with Pro Tools. It's quite common when working with VST plugins. If you'd like to know what RTAS plugins a quick google search of "pro tools rtas plugins" will return some interesting results. Hope this info is helpful. Feel free to share any tutorial suggestions you have by writing to us at Questions@WinkSound(dot)com.
why dont you just automate the mute with your pencil square tool at whatever grid value you desire, instead of chopping one by one. nice video, just seems a little faster
@timburgoonmusicpro Hi, thanks for the feedback. A few reasons to edit the audio file is the effect will be more audible and precise. You can cut the audio where you'd like the stutter to take place and instead of deleting the unwanted regions you can just mute them so you have them still there in case you'd like to try different stutter patterns.
Also, you can highlight the region you want to chop, then set your grid resolution. Then go to edit, separate region, and click on "on grid" and it will do chop it all for you
@MrGrainGrippa Helo This all depends on how fast you want the stutter to be. Experiment with different grid values to see what best suites your tracks tempo.
Hope that helps and get back to me with any other questions.
so you took 3 minutes to say "set the grid to 1/32nds or whatevers best for your song and mute every other region..." probably the least informative video i've seen on the stutter effect
Hey Justin, I would like to know how to create another vocal effect wich I don't know exaclty the name, is like a voice loop, a preparation for the verse, you can hear in songs like :
Thanks for the positive feedback and checking out the videos. I think the vocal effect your refering to is that like backwards fade in. Its a backwards reverb effect. I did a video on that this past week that will be up real soon. When it is uploaded to our site and youtube I will send it your way. Talk to you soon
@EyeDoStuff You can try using the Vari-Fi audiosuite plug in to get some vinyl rewinds. You could try reversing the audio region and then using the vari-fi plug in. I will send over a video I did on the vari-fi plug in. Let me know if this helps you out or if you are looking for something else. Try recording your question with a webcam if you have one and send it over on winksound.
Is this the same with Pro Tools 9?

Hi @Migpaadansk
You don't necessarily need a MIDI keyboard to use Pro Tools although it does simplify the creative process.
