offside + handball, but McShane lets it bounce in the box? I don't know whats worst from an Irish point of view, the decision or the defending? To be honest though O'Shea got injured and McShane replaced him, shoulda used Stephen Kelly instead.
@jersone1 yeah that's why your crappy league wants their players like Robbie Keane. Ireland would have been in the world cup if it wasn't for that cheating frog bastard.
@Tigranakert101 I thought Armenia were very unlucky with the decisions tbh, but we only needed a draw and we still won. We have one of the best defences in Europe and we got complacent against Armenia which allowed them to get a goal back when we were 2 goals up. Believe me the sending off didn't make a difference, we would have drawn at least 11-v-11, but I still felt very bad for the Armenian team as they didn't deserve to get knocked out that way - I would have rather we got through fairly.
My class asked my teacher on that day, who do you think will win tonight? He said "I don't know lads... But I think we're in for an epic night.. We were so!
Even though it was handball, the defender and the goalkeeper should not have protested it when Henry passed the ball. They should try to clear the ball first, then protest against it. But it was natural that players raised their hands when they see a handball, all the players do. Yeah, it was an obvious handball and not fair for Ireland.
I think this happens in part because the Irish goalie sees the obvious foul and protests immediately even before the pass. He basically gives up the play because he believes the play to be dead. He may have been able to block the pass before the goal is even scored had he not believed the play to be invalid.
Yes, I'm glad someone else noticed this. You can see several Irish players with their hands up before Gallas even got to the ball. The RTE commentators on the night were criticising McShane in particular.
good goal
