Hawkins had no peers. Like a King. He was royalty and so were the rest of the GIANTS on this recording. Guys who knew their instruments and knew how to swing without making harsh noise. Wish I could have known just one of these guys, especially Hawkins and Allen and JC. Oh hell, wish I couldda known em all.

ever heard - checked it out from the public
Library in ..1975 and was in love at first
listen .
Hawk is the father of the tenor sax.
