Taking just the CONTENT of the song played by the father-son trio - Nidhi chaala sukhamaa, ... => Is money source of happiness or is it the devotion to god ? The thought is hugely lofty, since people pursue money and wealth believing it is a substitute for happiness, whereas too much of it, while whole sections are starving due to exploitation, leads to its opposite. Now tell me, what the richer members of our diaspora are doing to alleviate mass sufferings? Do they say it is just THEIR karma?
@paulkrist44 In fairness to the artistes featured by this video, we must wish them , including the Senior (father), many more years so that they can keep entertaining music lovers. with their wonderful music.
Reg. your focus on money vs devotion to Lord (Sri Rama, for Saint Tyagaraja), I doub whether a part of savings will be parted at all, with for the poor, for that much more real happiness, if you expect such an impact. The Missionaries are there to care, so the govt. seems to think !
My thoughts on this nice song rendered by a master and his two expert violinist sons - a) Harmony is maintained by all 3 by sticking to a uniform method of presentation, a feat. b) Kalyaani raaga admits of very elaborate presentation depending on the imagination (Kalpana) of the musician, and this fact is used by the three taking turns for the kalpana svaras (partly covered in this video). c) Instrumental music thrives more on Raga Bhaava due to nonutterance of lyrics.
@lsjtifo I am convinced that whether by instrumental or vocal presentation, Indian classical music shines due to the right emphasis on the emotional qualities of different phrases of the raga in which a composition is rendered. Moreover, the great Trinity of Carnatic system,Tyagaraja-Dikshita-Shyama shastri, had excellent mastery over the full exploitation of both their rich, bhakti-laden lyrics AND the intrinsic powers of theRagas they chose for their compositions. Thanks a lot for uploading.
