  • OMG I WANT TO BUILD ONE! But how? Also the funny thing is, you can go across the border with that thing. LOL

  • Was this a homemade gyrocopter? Anybody have any experiences with the kits and their difficulty level?

  • Very cool

  • What instructions did you use and what engine;

  • so one day im fishing right? And some lunatic comes flying down the river screaming his head off and laughing and i had no idea whether to be scared or happy

  • Pilotwings 64

  • Sorry guys. No crash. Still flying many years later.

  • please post your crash

  • That is the most dangerous thing i've ever seen in my life

  • @picmedic Not really... It's actually safer than helicopters and airplanes, if built properly by a qualified person.

  • @picmedic Take a flight with someone that owns one. May be the most fun you'll ever have in your life. :)

  • what sort of engine are you using?

  • Awesome

  • home built?? omg youre good

  • i m sure he never made it to the beer store haha lol

  • @440vanman lmao yeah i was thinking the same thing man... good stuff.

  • Are u fckng kidding me?!

  • Does he live?

  • Absolutely fantastic!

  • scary o copter... lol

  • he crashed afterwards and his balls were chopped off by the rotors. sad isn't it.

  • @0neofthem

    Very funny

  • that is so awesome how did u build it?

  • that could not have gone well

  • grat:)

  • cool. easy to crash?

  • Yep well done

  • @manteaca.. Pilot off what?... Gyrocopters require up to a minimum of 30feet for a take off buddy, and land woth no engine, guess anything other than 'piloting' you computers flight simulator must scare you.

  • My dad said his roommate had a gyrocopter while he was in college and the FAA would be asking about where his roommate was constantly.

  • The Wrong Brothers in action!

  • ahahahah that looks funny

  • Temporary Sapien

  • brave man

  • I have really wanted to get into gyrocopters but I do not know what the maximum ceiling on these things are. i would appreciate any info. and how much would it cost to build one of these?

  • My brother Markus Bott had been tortured during five and a half years by the German BND. I recorded more than 100 videotapes which ended up in the legal system. The BND, which is the renamed GESTAPO, continued to torture my brother for 1.5 years despite several legal procedures pending. Markus Bott was assassinated on July 11th 2009 in Karlsruhe/Germany. Because of our homepage which is linked on my channel and our book Der Totalitäre Staat.

  • wow, I´m a pilot and I would not dare take off on that...

  • @manteaca

That's because you don't know that the gyrocopter (or autogyro) is the safest aircraft ever-built, both from airplanes and helicopters. It doesn't stall, and you can land in a limited area after engine failure. Try this with airplane or helicopter.

  • @qp12qp Uh. You most certainly can land a helicopter on a dime without power. It's called "autorotation".

  • kamikazee !

  • ur an idiot this isnt fake, learn how things work before you call em fake

  • wow. someones played a little too much pilotwings 64

  • Man, I would love to build one of those, but I honestly would be too afraid to fly it..Or at least for its first flights! LOL

  • i wonder what happened after this clip ended.

  • @skysnet

My first thought after i read this question. "splash"...

  • We be somewhere in South Florida, I see cabbage palm, Australian pine, melaleuca, eucalyptus, and Brazilian pepper. One native species out of five,

  • dang..you have an eye for trees!

  • Well, it's rooted in a longing for home. I was raised and lived most of my life in So. Fla. but have been living in Indiana for 9 years.

  • How sweet, you're homesick! I know the feeling...I get that way about my "lost places".

  • jesus dude...thats some intense tree knowledge....i just look for road signs..

  • Dear All,

I have two questions about psychology:

    (1) Why do we love flying and pilot an aeroplane in the sky?

    (2) Why do we wnat to design new jet? (eg. design a flying motorcycle in this video)

    (3) Why do we want to have our "personal-home-make-jet"?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

  • I think it's about achievement to a lot of people, I love being in the air but can't fly I am not a Pilot, but I love being up there, you feel literally on top of the world, and it is such a lovely feeling, being away from all your troubles below. I suppose for pilots it's all about the perfect take off and Glideslope and all the above mentioned perks in between. I think it's just the feeling that nothing can harm you and the view is therapeutic. it becomes an addiction, a nice one though.

  • only 14 sec ????

    more please

  • I think you should patent it and then commercialize it, naming it ** Super-FTP 2009 **. Oh, FTP stands for flying death trap.

  • not only was your abbreviation spelled incorrectly twice, but that was also a stupid, rude comment.

  • @geeksquad2 Lighten up. I know the guy who made this plane is great at what he does; but I hope he can have a sense of humor about it.

  • well it wasn't too obvious that you were being humorous. thats probably why you got 2 thumbs down and they weren't from me.

  • I would fly one, of course it might be the last mistake I ever make.

  • I would love to fly this.

  • man it takes a lot of balls to test flight sumthing like that thats homemade....ALOT of balls

  • the correct name for that machine is an 'autogyro' - gettit right

  • There's two words for it, autogyro and gyrocopter.

  • Gyrocopter is a brand name. As is Autogiro....

  • paperninjathfirst i agree totally m8 he must have balls

  • Now, pay attention James...

  • the top propeller actually spins freely.

  • this man has balls

  • @paperninjathefirst but doesn't care for him...

  • @paperninjathefirst Balls as an understatement

  • destroy this thing before you chop your head off.

  • Not to mention the decapitated and mowed ducks.......pieces of flying remains of what once was alive...

Who TF needs a windsock in his backyard by the way?

  • ...Someone who has a girocopter perhaps?

  • i want oneeeee

  • cool but scary

  • Ur gonna die

  • We're all gonna die...

  • Wow...

  • I would be praying for those blades to keep spinning!

  • that had to be scary

  • in a strange way, these are easier to build than an airplane or trike which requires large surfaced materials, a huge area to construct the wings, complex rigging, greater ground clearance requirements, etc

  • damn man, u r insane to take off and fly so close to those trees

  • im gong to make one imma have it look like a helicopeter with a radio and 2 seats

  • where would i get my hands on one of these they look great

  • I want one of these so bad.

  • awesome, how much did it cost to build?

  • I´m Thinking To Make One Of Those.

But I Dont No The Ancels Of The Prepillar

  • the caterpillar doesn't have ankles

  • Besides if you're making something that flies wouldn't you be better off looking at the butterfly, not the caterpillar?

  • man, I don't even remember making that comment. 'The caterpillar doesn't have ankles'?

Could someone clear me up as to what I was talking about? D:>

  • Would not fly that thing

  • looks fun : )

  • looks so fun, i know someone that has one, he lands in his own maize feild but i didn't know it needed such a short space to take off.

  • Looks like the main rotor is rotating prior to the takeoff roll shortens the distance. I've seen some that have no pre-rotation, and the this is built up through forward airspeed only, and the takeoff run is doubled at least

  • nice back-yard..

  • i want one

  • prerotor?

  • Supposed to be the safest kind of aircraft these.

If you lose power you glide down to land as large rotor is not powered anyway.

  • i would be so PROUD to make one of those :)

  • Did he make it over those trees, or did it turn into a submarine all of a sudden? :)

  • LOL. I am hoping it was the former. But would he head for the river instead of going straight up??

  • very nice it kan fly xD

  • i would shit my pants!

  • dangerous but very cool

  • how is it any more dangerous than the idiots that are driving on the road? have you ever known someone to own one and crash in one? statistically speaking its safer than walking to the deli.

  • correct. the aerodynamic forces on the unpowered main rotor produce enough lift to gentally descend whether the engine runs or not. these are the safest type of aircraft in the world, even failures have no consequenses other that turning the gyro into a rotorkite. you just glide down.

  • i'de like to see those statistics.

gyrocopters nowadays are made wrong with a tail way too short for it's own good, which oftentimes leads to rollovers of the craft. rolling over a gyrocopter is bad news.

  • Not much of a safety margin. I swore he was going into the pond.

  • dangerous.

  • lol screw cars lol just take tht where ever u go lol fuck drivers license lol heli license 1st lol

  • Neeeer

    *lands on roof*

  • haha yah man tht would b a very good idea for everyday transportation

  • the good thing about air travel is less chance of collision with so much space

  • haha but if theres to mny ppl with those thing more crashes ahahah lol

  • yea but if the engine fails its a long way down

  • gyros autorotate pretty nicely

  • even if the engine shuts off, you can still glide down safely, its actually a pretty safe machine

  • watch?v=E2YOFcZr2tM

  • Crashes do happen in any kind of craft, that is unforunate, however Gyros are actually pretty safe machines nonetheless

  • I just thought it was worth noting since the guy was a stunt pilot for a James Bond movie and had 18 something gyrocopter world records.

  • So when the engine on a fixed wing aircraft dies it promptly falls from the sky?

  • what are you talking about?, i dont know i was talking about gyros

  • Comment removed

  • well depending on airspeed and altitude not always. If your high enough or moving fast enough then it is VERY possible to gluide back down to earth safely however its also VERY tricky

  • good takeoff

  • DOPE!

  • dude thts a way to get to school lloool

  • chop off yo head wit that shit

  • nice job BUT extremely dangerous!

  • madreee miaaa al igual me subo en eso xD prefiero pagar 100 euros por cada hora en las diamond de mi escuela antes q eso me corte el cuello xD

  • Not safe.... I'm sure the Wright brothers heard that line many times.

  • definitly not safe

  • HAHAHAHHAA

  • im looking into making a ultralight

waht would the best building materal for my frame and wings be

    plz reply

  • I would guess that aluminum would be the best. Carbon fiber might also work.

  • damn i want 1 of these

  • beast

  • Gyrocopters are one of the safest aircraft you can fly. The main rotor is not powered. If the engine fails it will coast to the ground useing wind resistance for lift. Thats why its a popular homebuilt aircraft. Some people make them from scratch but most buy them in kits.

  • is it a reason we did not see the landing?:S

  • probaly crashed

  • omfg awesome!!!!!

  • james bond used one in a 1960s movie

  • good takeoff; must have taken a LOT of time,

testing, patience, and confidence to build

that machine! Hope the landing was good

    also.

  • did he crash just after? lol jk nice vid :-D

  • fuck that!

  • oh my gosh it's a roflcopter!!!

  • what is rofl mean?

  • rolling on floor laughing

  • i saw something like this last summer up in oregon where i was fishing in the river.....the guy was following the river and like doing pretty sharp turns and steep climbs....it was really great then he came down and was only a few feet from the water is was so cool

  • LOL did he land? looked a bit outa control if ya ask me ! ahhaha

  • woah thats genius man

  • oh its the real rofl coppter

  • hahahaha good one xD

  • Looks like a Dominator.

  • "Isn't that the same as an autogyro?"

Yes, just called differently, they are fun to fly.

  • it probobly hit the tree after the guy stoped filming..

  • i wonder what happened next LOL kidding

  • LOL *CRASH!*

  • I wouldnt fly anything I built.

  • he has balls

  • Home-built gyrocopter experimental suecide

  • lol

  • the big question, did you land or crash?

  • See his other video for the answer. Very cool machine!

  • omg its lyk flying around in ur armchair

  • at thje begin it looked like he was going to fall XD

  • lol!!!

  • You need an; EAC + your craft meats FAR § 103.1. & if it does not fly under EAA, or USUA exemption it needs to weigh less then 496 lbs.

Or take a boat 3 miles out until you reach international waters, then go 2 more miles till you are outside of the US's declared air space. & have a blast crashing the thing into the ocean instead.

  • hahha FUCKTHAT!! u wouldnt catch me tryina fly that

  • ouch

  • That would be extremely fun...if you didn't crash that is...

  • Those blades could chop you up if you crash land.

  • Did you get permission from the FAA?

if not, you get fined sadly.

  • is this guy in the united states because i dought he would be flying this without express permission and/or with a gyrocopter license. But yea sucks for him if the FAA found out which they usaully do.
