  • Oh my God!!! can i kiss your feet?

  • This is a great explantion to show students! Thanks.

  • 42 minute review of this for a test tomorrow = I kind of get it

5 minute explanation of this while studying = I'm gonna get 100

    thank you so much!

  • OMG. Be my teacher please?!

  • a very good teacher sir. thanks, i don't know y i don't get this in class but i get in on youtube. thanks.

  • dude i love u man! i was struggling to learn this , since i have lost my book and notes! thank you very much!

  • thank you so much for the wonderful review! i have an exam tomorrow and i had forgotten how to do these!

  • what happens when the constant d is 0 ?

  • Yaaaaayyy I won't fail my test now! :)

  • How can you dislike?? He was very clear in explanation!

  • What if the constant term is not shown/given? What will be done in order to find the zeros?

  • Yay!!! You explain everything clear!!! Thank you!!!

  • THANK YOU! :) i was so confused, this helped a ton!!!!!!

  • thank you sooo much! i have a teacher that doesn't teach, she just shows you one or two examples and expects you to understand it completely. my finals are next week friday and i can not thank you enough! :)

  • These are so so fantastic! I'm needing to study for my calculus exam and this is JUST the review I needed!

Thanks for helping save my grades!

  • Mashaouallah

    I benefited greatly

    You are a wonderful professor

    I'm sure what I say

  • @Tormentlove1

اوكي .. الله يوفقــك .. أخر رد :):):):):

  • my god man, have you ever considered a career teaching public school. god knows we could use more teachers who actually know what theyre talking about XD

  • Thanks to you, I can finish my stupid annoying homework! :D

  • if i was to find rational zeros for 2x^5+x^2+16 then why would one of the rational numbers be plus or minus 1/2?

  • @hollyhoney140 They are possible zeros, but not necessarily actual zeros of the function. Imagine if you didn't narrow it down with the rational roots theorem, you would have an unlimited number of possibilities to test. So the rational roots theorem gives us a few numbers to work with. =) Hope this helps.

  • im convinced he isnt wearing pants

  • I think he meant to say (x+1) is a factor at 3:27...

    Just so nobody is confused.

Mad props to you sir for explaining this !

  • What about Descortes Rule of Signs

  • I love you. Can we make babies now?

  • wow... this just put my precalculus teacher to shame >.>

  • This makes worlds more sense than what I learned in class. And in under 6 minutes, too!

  • what a bright storm, so tried and true.....this is very helpful, thank you so much.

  • how do you solve a rational function?!

  • PLEASE BE MY TEACHER!

  • I have a question. What do you do if, after doing the synthetic division, you end up with a cubic plynomial? You obviously cant apply the quadratic formula there. So what do you do?

  • @TheGuitarCrazy141 Long division I think

  • @TheMichaelberg I take my previous statement back....

  • @TheGuitarCrazy141

Solve for another root if you can.

  • I absolutely loved it. I have a precalculus exam in about 4 days and honestly speaking, this video might be the only reason I pass. POST MORE. Maybe some trigonometry? :)

  • omg...that was so good! i love it...i didn't really learned this in school.. wtf

  • what abut descartes method for zeros?

  • @greasem917 descartes method is what he did at the beginning to find potential zeros

  • He looks so much like Dexter. I had to say it. This is like being tutored by a closet raving psychopath. But you're fooking excellent, Dexter.

  • @angelrosiie aww I think he's cute! =)

  • What if it's a fraction?

  • what about something like x^4 - 4x^3 + 36^2 - 144x?

  • this is the best explanation i've heard. and i've been looking for this for a few hours. can i have you for myself so you can tutor me for the rest of this year?

  • CAN THERE BE ANY SHORTCUTS?

  • ok u did 2+6 divided by 2 how did u get 3? isnt it supposd to be 4 i am so confused there.

  • @ifreestuffs that was 2+6i divided by 2 which can be written as 2divided by 2 + 6idivided by 2 = 3i

  • Best review of Finding Zeros of a Polynomial Function on youtube! Thank you so much!

  • pretty good, but guys don't waste ur time trying each p/q via synthetic division, instead you can just plug each p/q into the function, and if you get 0, then the p/q is a zero.

  • Thanks muchos :D

  • what do you do if you have a problem like x^3-8x^2+16x? do i just plug in 0 for the mising term?

  • oh one more thing. You're trying to find RATIONAL ZEROS. Meaning you only factor to find the zeros. Say you have a polynomial like f(x)=x^4......meaning you'll have 4 zeros right? well since you're looking for rational zeros you'd only need to find the zeros that are factorable. Anything that needs to be solved quadratically will either be Irrational or imaginary.

  • so couldn't it be written as p/q= factor of the constant/factor of leading constant?

what I don't understand is why this is under "precalc" when i'm learning this in alg 2H? well i have a huge one with a coefficient of 10. f(x)= 10x^4-3x^3-29x^2+5x+12

  • @ 3:25 you say that x-1 or ( "x minus 1") is a factor so just wanted to clarify b/c you then go on to say x minus -1 is the factor which is what you meant to say at 3:25.

  • thank you so much! :D

  • thank you so much! :D

  • why is it that i learn more from youtube in 5 min than from being in a class for 45 min????

  • @jdavem2012 anyone with a license can be a teacher

  • @jdavem2012 Same here, except my class is EVEN longer- 90 minutes !!

  • @jdavem2012 cus u can rewind

  • @jdavem2012 because you're actually paying attention

  • @jdavem2012 your lucky i have 180 min classes

  • thanks

  • or you can use a graphing calc but this helped for a more complicated problem... THANKS

  • Thank you !!

  • excellent thank you very much, by far the best explanation I have found so far.

  • Awesome ..thanks
