  • This not from the 1968 film version...

  • How i met your mother: Barney- "He's not coming"

  • @LolSmilez4 :D

  • @JohnEBPiano I can't agree more. I'm a freshman too and she does have a nice rack.

  • Like this if you are a freshman and you saw this movie.

  • Aren't any songs like this nowadays):

  • I like the young boy's version in the movie better than this. But its still so beautiful.

  • i wish this song was on itunes but i cant find it.

  • Hey press th F13 key...

  • I have been in love with this movie ever since i was a kid. I believe this to be Zefirelli's best accomplishment and Nino Rota's best composition. It is a song for lovers no matter how old you are.

  • Un filme inolvidable, para todos los enamorados, aunque esta historia fue dramatica y triste,ya que terceras perzonas, dieron rienda suelta a sus paciones,y no los dejaron ser felizes.

  • -___- she was actually 15 when this was shot, and I am 15. Sorry you think my comment was crude but stop calling me a pedofile, I made a joke in poor taste, move on. Judgement brigade, jesus.

  • Ahhh one of my all-time favourite songs from one of my favourite films. I sing this all the time :) hehe. Is this different to the version in the film? Thank you for putting this up, it's made my day!

  • Ahhh one of my all-time favourite songs from one of my favourite films. I sing this all the time :) hehe. Is this different to the version in the film?

  • Man... the TITS on Juliet.

  • @JohnEBPiano just no, pedophile

  • @zoro112112 alright A. Shes like 40 now. B. I'm a freshman.. that's why I watched this movie

  • @JohnEBPiano yeah now but when the movie was shot she was 13

  • @zoro112112 and ur comment was about her "TITS"

  • @zoro112112 Nope. She was 15 or 16. 8P The movie was released in 1968 and she was born in 1951.

Also, I'm a girl and even I thought they were huge. Seriously, I thought they were like stuffed or something...

  • @JohnEBPiano What the hell is wrong with you? She's a child in this film. Can't you just enjoy the song and not put up perverted comments to ruin it?

  • @JohnEBPiano I agree. I'm also a FRESHMAN (15) and I was surprised at the rack on her.

  • Theres almost nothing left to compete with this piece.

  • I would so hit that.

  • My favorite song, I love Romeo and Juliet.

  • i love this song we watched this in my english class and i was crying when this song came on for the first time. i honestly will go around my high school singing this song everyday in the hallways

  • Anybody know if The Gregorian Monks did a cover of this ??? What about an instrumental version by Apocalyptica ????

  • thk

  • I don't like the cheery part in it.

I don't mind it but it's so deep and soulful and then BAM something cheery pops in the middle of the song. D:

  • @lnmissgreen lol i love that part, the transition and contrast

  • 1:00 - 1:16

  • love the shot of olivia hussey at the beginning, LOL

  • Sencillamente fantástico...

Hay un joven que toca el violín en el centro de mi ciudad... Y siempre me toca esta canción para despedirse de mi porque sabe que es mi favorita...^^

¿Saben cómo se tocaría con la flauta?

    Me encantaría saber..

  • We just watched this movie in English. I loved this song

  • i never get tired of hearing this song....

  • me neither im watching this movie in english class and im i love it

  • we did too, about a month ago... this is a pretty good movie with a great song.

  • this song really tunes to your emotions

  • beautiful song meaningful

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!!!!! THIS SONG

  • I LOVE Romeo and Juliet

and this song is so beautiful :)

  • I prefer the version sung by the bard in the 1968 movie itself, Glen Weston.

  • @roscolane Me too, I don't like this version. In the movie it's better. His voice is softer ... It's better when it's not too much opera.

  • @roscolane But the actor who stands and sings is Bruno Filippini.

  • @roscolane That Bard got a high roll on his perform check!

  • @roscolane I agree too! I wondered why isn't the same as the movie!

Isn't the same who sing in the Phantom of the Opera? Same voice!

  • the words are so moving. and the melody, so beautiful. no one could hate this song.

  • I know people who hate this song...I don't know how they hate it!

  • Does anybody knows the singer?

  • this is a very sweet song

  • What is a youth? Impetuous fire.

What is a maid? Ice and desire.

    The world wags on,

    a rose will bloom....

    It then will fade:

    so does a youth,

    so does the fairest maid.

Comes a time when one sweet smile

has a season for a while....

  • Then love's in love with me. Some they think only to marry, others will tease and tarry. Mine is the very best parry. Cupid he rules us all. Caper the cape, but sing me the song, Death will come soon to hush us along. Sweeter than honey... and bitter as gall, Love is a task and it never will pall. Sweeter than honey and bitter as gall. Cupid rules us all.
  • this is different than the version in the movie

  • The singer is...??

  • this song is beautiful. . .if you don't like it. don't comment.

  • this song gives me the creeps. it makes me sad and cry...just great!!

  • Who else still gets teary whenever this song is played?

  • that would be me lol

  • @LadyVader33 I do. It doesn't matter who sings it.

  • i think it sounds lovely actually. all you people are just being tasteless.

  • you must have seen the movie, in order to understand the beauty of this melody

  • yes i saw the movie and the melody is stunning but this guy's voice HARDLY does it justice.

  • amazing song!!!very good!!

  • Olivia Husey, viviré eternamente enamorado de esta mujer.

  • I stumbled upon this film yesterday while channel surfing and was pleasently surprised. It was sad but touching. A true gem. I'm so used to the stuff shown these days that I rarely give anything prior to 1985 a chance. As far as the main actors are concerned Olivia Hussey has aged well but Leonard Whiting in my opinion hasn't. Then again, I was young once also and I looked far better then than I do today. It sucks getting old...

  • its a great movie

  • This themesong and play in the movie is the highlight. It tells about everything of the movie, describes the right scent of mood and feelings of the movie all through. Love this song and rememebered it all though the years ever since i saw the movie first time for about 10 or 12 years ago. These kind of movies ain't made anymore. It is in these days language said EPIC =)

  • i saw the film that was the balcony scene.. her boobs are HUGE!@

  • wow the beginning pic her boobs r like so big lolz

  • agreed 100%

  • in the play, she starts out as thirteen years old, shy of age 14 by roughly two weeks. The play takes over the course of less than a week. by the way, Romeo and Juliet marry the next day they meet, u dont see that too often in our society, do we? lol

  • ma quanto è bella questa canzone??

  • Olivia Hussey, the most beautiful woman ever !!!

  • I think a young Brooke Shields gives her a run for her money, but I think I favor Olivia by the slimmest of margins because she has an innocence about her that is just so charming. And those wide eyes...

    Ahhhhh...

  • this song breaks my heart so true and sad

  • this song makes my heart melt how come on the soundtrack they cant have the orignal singer i cant even find him on the net his like a mystery

  • i know it sux!

  • oh believe me its real

  • There love, I understand it somehow. There willingness to give everything for eachother, even there lives.

  • I think it exists but it's certainly an endangered species in todays day and age. People are conditioned, in large part due to TV and the media, to put physical appearance first. People go from one meaningless relationship to another, back in the day marriage actually meant something. Things have changed. I'm sure there are both good natured men & women out there, but so scattered that the chances of running into each other are remote.

  • but they met "love at first sight." I totally agree with what you said, but ive always seem romeo and juliet relationship's very superficial. And if youve looked at romeo's past relationships with women they were very fleeting! I think the greatest love is when you meet your equal (even in the worse of aspects) like kate and petruchio in taming of the shrew.

  • I agree that in the beginning it was just typical young love and physical attraction. Afterall just earlier that day he was depressed over losing Rosaline. I think it without doubt developed into more than that. I mean he was sad when he broke up with Rosaline, but not ready to end himself like he was over Juliet. He didn't want to live without her. That is more than superficial in my book.

  • exactly! culdnt have said it better myself

btw he nvr dated Rosaline she was becoming a nun soon so he chased after her and she wuldnt give him the time of day lol

  • exactly, it sux that the chances r soooo low of meeting who yur meant to be w/

theres too many perverts and sick pigs who dont beleive in love and just wanna have s ex

    too many men r pigs

    and sum girls too....

    were just too superficial

but im not that way, if i date any1 they have to take me as i am and i will 2 and if they evr force me 2 do sumthin i dont want to i will end it no matter how much i like them.

  • I'd say most "people" are pigs nowadays period. Both sexes are equally to blame. People had better manners back in the day... long before the Girls Gone Wild and reality TV era.

I really don't think anything is "meant to be" though. We are in control of our own fate. Our actions and the actions of others decide our outcomes... not the stars.

  • yes the first part i agree w/ but i do beleive in destiny and fate. i dont beleive that destiny and fate has to do w/ the cosmos necessarily. like i dont beleive in astrology. but i think u can be destined to meet.

like Chandler and Monica (f.r.i.e.n.d.s) like edward and bella (Twilight)

idk i beleive in it so yeah lol.

  • Love like this exists in the heart of the Lover. Can it be shared? Well, in music.

  • There is just something about this song. It makes you feel and wish that love like this existed. I am not saying that it doesn't, but you'll be extremely lucky if you find. Everytime I hear it, it makes my heart want to burst. I understand that I am yet to young to love like that, or to even know true love, but that doesn't mean that I can not dream and long for it, just like I know the rest of us do. Yet again, Juliet was only 14, if I am correct when she met Romeo.

  • yes. she was 14.

  • Actually she was "a fortnight and some odd days" shy of 14, as stated in the play and movie. That = just over 2 weeks. So she was 13 about to turn 14.

  • shy of 14 "fortnight and some odd days"

  • omg u said it all thats exactly how i feel!!

im 14 too and i want true love more than anything
