The lyrics were written by L. Wilbur Chapman in 1910. I'm not sure why the band is trying to take credit for the work of another artist. Even secular society considers plagiarism a crime. I wonder if all the hymns with music arranged by CC are being passed off by them as original. The listening public certainly is not giving hymns any credit these days. I also do not see any credit given to the poet H W Longfellow for "I heard the bells on Christmas Day" on holiday album. He wrote poem in 1864.
@mad4nertz@mad4nertz They are not trying to take credit for the original lyrics. Just singing and praising our Lord using these timeless words penned by the brilliant L. Wilbur Chapman. I love the old him style and I LOVE CC's version. Blesses my heart every time I hear this song!! =)
Here's a video of Mark, the lead singer for CC, speaking about using the age-old hymn on their album. (well, for some reason You Tube won't let me add the link, but search for "Mark on Glorious Day")
Where can I e-mail you for a full-res copy?? This is a great job
