The problem with Europe (and to a lesser degree with America) is that they abandoned principles, expressed in the religion-based culture, which some confuse with ethnicity. I have nothing against defending culture & tradition.

True, but I did not say self-determination, ethnic or otherwise, was the sine qua non of a nation-state, simply that no nation is reducible to an idea - though an ideal of some sort forms a part of most nations.
Israel, however, is an Explicitly ethnocentric state in a manner no longer allowed European nations. Suppose Italy passes a law: only Catholics can be citizens. World response? Outrage, xenophobia...Besides, my gripe was with this equation of Western Civ w/Israel, not Israel itself.

Mr. Voight is dead-on right, and it takes guts and true honesty for anyone to come out and tell it like it is, especially considering the peer group he has to deal with. Believe it or not, a majority of this country believes as Jon Voight does, and they need to learn to speak up as he has, despite the ridicule and lies that the far-left liberals, the biased-media, and all ignorant Americans like to dish out and believe in. Obama was voted in because of ignorance...and that's a fact.
