Anyway, it seems like the world's currencies, including US are fragile and walking a tightrope of "confidence ." I heard that if only 15% of debt holders today loss faith in the USD and withdrew - that could cause collapse.
Gold is still cheap at $1400.00 an ounce and its due for a price correction shortly, so now and during the correction is the time to buy or get as much as you can find.
Buying Gold and Silver is not the total solution. Anyone that has been paying attention should be prepared to get out when the time is right.

Even with this knowledge, I didn't take it seriously until the financial collapse in late 2008 and didn't exchange any of my currency into real money (gold) until early 2009. Better late than never. Silver and gold wouldn't be worth anything unless people decided it was worth something. Carrying paper in your pocket is easier than having a bunch of heavy silver and gold in your pocket.

@upussey You won't have took him seriously. When I was younger my dad taught me that gold doesn't go up, but rather it's the Dollar that goes down. Even with this knowledge, I didn't take it seriously until the financial collapse in late 2008 and didn't exchange any of my currency into real money (gold) until early 2009. Better late than never. Don't regret the things you didn't do, but rather be glad you did the things you did when you did them. Educate others but don't go too far.

@manoftruth Ty, you are absolutely correct. That is advice we all should take. If we were to all start dumping the dollar and getting gold and then using that as savings we would be better off. I personally just started doing it. I feel more secure now. So, the only order of business left is to vote Ron in and abolish the Fed

What you mean is not that the value U.S dollar has droped, but the value of the Federal Reserve note is dropping. A Federal Reserve is not a Dollar, only a promise to pay a dollar. A silver Dollar is a dollar, not a bank note, nor a promise..., but a dollar! You can get more than one FRN for a Silver Dollar. You can still get one Silver Dollar for a Silver Dollar. The value for the Silver Dollar has not droped. Now they both can't be Dollars!
