  • Diesel or gas?

  • How many mpg do you get?

  • no cats?

  • I think they sound great

  • rednecks lol

  • @TheCatHimself Damn straight!

  • Awful.

  • Thanks buddy, and I think the 8" would sound better but I am kinda biased you could say haha. Either one you pick is goin to sound badass

  • i have a 03 5.3 but my glasspack is like 18" wonder which will sound better when i convert to true duals? o yeah sounds sick man!

  • i have a 03 5.3 but my glasspack is like 18" wonder which will sound better when i convert to true duals?

  • @EJthecountryboyGRAY, I say go for it for sure. The glasspacks without cats will sound very sick and badass as it gets in my opinion. And dont worry about a check engine light, just leave it on. Mine was on for 2 years and it never kept me from getting my truck inspected or anything like that. When its all said and done get a video up

  • @05silvy Thanks man,and when I get it done, the world will know! Yeah another guy said something about the o2 sensor, and I never thought about that, but far as inspection, dont have to worry about that in bama haha! But I'm gonna get alot done this summer, like repaint(clear peeling off),cold air intake, maybe a tuner, gut the cats and find an o2 bypass,or I guess leave it on if it dont hurt, but thanks for the info,it helps,if you got any other suggestions, let me know!

  • I have almost the same deal, red 5.3 stepside, single cab,it has true dual cat back straights and 5 inch tips, but I been wanting to install the 8inch glasspacks on my truck, but I been gonna gut my cats, what do you think, please 'REPLY',I been wanting someones feedback, but so far,I've had little help.

Please tell me what you think, and if you want check out my chevy, and leave me a comment,or some info.

Also this was an awesome truck!!!

  • gmc is the best right ?

  • yessir I do have the stock cats on there

  • I love both of the setups but the glasspacks are my favorite just because the nasty tone

  • @05silvy do you have cats or no?

  • Sounds super sick. So what do you like better - the glasspacks or the cherry bomb extreme? I like the glasspacks myself.

  • How big is the piping?

  • doing this with my 99 tahoe......so i just cut the muffler off connect two 8 inch cherrybomb glasspacks and make it come out the back and i will have this.........not to bad cant wait.

  • @emilsiedlecki hell yea

  • thats how a truck suppose to sound

  • Thanks bud!! and yessir they are.

  • thats pretty fuckin loud for glasspacks! i love that shit! are they turned around?

  • It has stock cats and stock headers, it was about 350 for the pipe and glasspacks to be installed and i already had the tips but they were 75 a piece for the tips maybe more, its been so long ago since i bought those tips, It was cheaper than I thought it was gonna be for true duals to be put on my truck i can tell you that for a fact.

  • if you dont mind me asking, what was the total cost of the setup after all is said and done?

    Did you keep stock cats?

    Did you add any headers?

  • That sounds badass!! NIce setup.

  • Not a problem buddy. Get a video after its all said and done

  • @05silvy will do. it wont sound as good as your truck but it shouldnt sound bad

  • Oh yeah they made a huge change in sound. It was very deep and echoed like crazy haha it was awesome. But they get bent up an cracked so i got rid of them.

  • @05silvy well thanks for the help man. i have the same piping and set up you have but couldnt make up my mind on tips but now i know what im getting

  • Thanks man. Did those tips affect the sound any?

  • Yessir they are cherry bomb glasspacks

  • are those cherry bomb glasspacks?

  • nice

  • damn dude ur truck sounds badass.

  • Cut those cats off an youl be good to go :)

  • well i would not have bought them if they looked stupid to me but thanks for the input

  • those tips look stupid sorry to say

  • damn thats loud for glasspacks. makes me wanna tear out my flowmasters

  • dang that is expensive!! but thats how it is on my truck now, 45ed out the side. it echos off everything i drive by and i love it.

  • wow, that is a lot of money, what exact set up are you lookin at goin with? the same as mine? or somethin different?

  • same but i want the pips to come out behind the tires

  • that was the price without the tips, the pipe was ran out right before the rear bumper and cut so when the tips could come in they could be put right on, but 325 for everything except the tips is still a damn good price in my opinion.

  • that is are really good price , where i live they want 700 for everything

  • wow and u had everything done at the shop and it only came out to 325

  • yep, the stock cats are still there.

  • ya im thinking about putting them on my 96 chevy 1500. Do you still have your cats on?

  • a local shop where i live ordered them for me when they first came out, not very many people buy them i guess but me and one other buddy of mine has them on his truck and thats all i have really seen

  • where did you get your 8inch glasspacks

  • It was about 325 for everything if i remember right, thats without the tips though, those were a lot more, but that cost is the 2 glasspacks and piping and paying the shop. It was not too bad, hope this helps.

  • wow for everything and had it done at the shop for 325 ?

  • how much did the true duals cost u ???????

  • get u some 5 inch echo tips turn them out at a 45 degree then yo shit be hittin.

  • If i remember right they were 14 or 15 inches long. A long time ago i had some 24 inch long 4 inch tips and those things echo really loud. its all up to you on the look of the exhaust tips on your pick up

  • im lookin for about 4" in diam and something that will echo so ill have to keep lookin around

  • decent truck man the exhaust sounds bad ass im going to be doing a similar setup on my truck soon

  • The tips change the tone, either making it louder or not as loud, in the other videos i have, one doesn have tips with the true dual glasspacks and the other has these 5 inch tips, so you can tell how the sound changes and i also have straight pipes and true dual cherry bomb extremes with 3.5 inch tips and they all sound different, and i ordered them from a local exhaust shop, they are the stainless rolled 5 inch diesel tips...hope this helps

  • yea thanks im just gettin as many ideas for a much needed new exhaust for my truck, and how long are the tips in this vid?

  • do the tips really make anything of a difference in sound like making it deeper? and where did you get those tips from?

  • The stock y pipe is cut off, 2 seperate pipes are ran from each header, no crossover, then it is ran straight back to the glasspacks, its just like a normal exhaust set up i just have 2 seperate pipes from the motor instead of one

  • How are they ran underneath? Any way you could post a vid of that or explain it thanks

  • well if you wanna come wash it for me go for it, but it rains every week pretty much where i live and the truck goes off road almost everyday for work, so i am just wasting time for washing it. and it seems your the only one that thinks it looks like shit and let me say again, its a 4x4 truck, its meant to get dirty and used

  • CHEVY POWER

  • i use my truck everyday, its gets muddy, i dont see the problem. its a truck. and it aint a street queen

  • dosent mean it has to look like shit

  • ever heard of washing it?

  • Comment removed

  • @acres90 Eww, washing? What is that?

  • well the bigger it is the deeper it is pretty much, i have has 3 1/2 inch, 4 inch and 5 inch, they all sound different but it stilll is loud no matter what. What exhaust are you running on your truck?

  • Stainless 5 inch rolled edge diesel tips for $50 bucks....where at?

  • how big of a difference does tips make i got 3 inch right now want to go bigger.

  • i got the same truck but mine is a gmc sierra got straight exaust it sounds great!

  • dude that sounds so bad ha haasss

  • yep the stock ones are still there. The truck might be for sale soon. If anyone is interested.

  • You got the cats man?

  • Thanks man. It was about 350 for everything including the piping mufflers and install. i already had the tips but they are about 135 a piece. Its expensive for the tips lol

  • if you have 2 1/2 inch pipes you coulda got the tips for about $50 each...

  • hey man, nice truck awesome sound! how much did that cost for you to do that?

  • yes sir you are correct. or go the alternate route as i have done and just run true dual straights lol

  • its about the sixe of every other glasspack. i would say 5 inches or so but they are just much shorter.

  • o ok. the shorter the louder

  • @96chevy69 Not necessarily. My buddy has a Cutlass with a built 350 and he said it was louder with pipes all the way to the back, rather than dumping along the rockers.

  • Thanks man and yeah you can do that and it will save you some money since you are gonna use less pipe.

  • no problem and ya i like that part...same some cash for some other accesories.

  • Comment removed

  • how big around are your glasspacks?

  • WOW...that sounds AWESOME. I wanna do that to my truck now. I got a 1996 chevy silverado. its got stock exhaust on it now and its way to quiet for me. its got a 350 vortec in it...i got dual exhaust half way back into the muffler then it comes out the muffler single. u think i should cut that muffler off and put the exact same setup as u got.. casue i love the sound of yur truck man

  • Thanks man. And i have the stock torsion keys cranked and have 285/70/17 Cooper Discoverer ST's. If you live in Texas i will send you a 8 inch glasspack if you want it. I took them off and have just stright pipes now. It wouldn cost you anything

  • I own a 02 same thing you got pretty much though.

Been thinkin bout glasspacks cause whats what Ive always ran, now I know I am. Just gunna hack off the stock muffler and run it out the side(moneys tight)

    Cant wait.

    Like your truck alot.

    What kind/size tires you runnin?

Ive got 285-75-16's bout to get a leveling kit and 305's

  • actually man if i had anything over a 3 inch pipe or bigger it would drain my horsepower but i have 2.5 OD piping so that does not drain anything since my stock y pipe was a 3 inch down pipe to 2.5 inch exhaust tubing. the tips are just for sound not for horsepower...and if you came up with that in your mind you are WAY wrong or if someone told you that slap them in the face. tips are just for echo hint the name echo tips lol. nice try though.

  • do u realize any thing over 3in on a tip and it drains hp right?

  • thanks man i hope so too

  • it will sound badass either way

  • im not real sure on the part number. i just asked for the 8 inch glasspacks for 2.5 inch pipin and they sent them to me. im thinkin about cuttin the glasspacks out and runnin straight pipe with my long tube headers whenever they get ordered

  • hey is glasspack part number 87522

  • man that sounds awesome! and your right about HuntFsh14 hahaha

  • HuntFsh14 i never said anything about getting pulled over for havin no mufflers. and what i have is just as loud or louder and i aint got a ticket and you have an S10 with true duals....is that with a V6 or 4 cylinder? i bet that sounds great lol

  • you should man. it is loud and is badass. once my headers go on it is gonna get even louder lol

  • man dude that sounds bad ass! i was thinkin bout makin my exaust on my sierra true dual and puttin 8" cherry bomb glasspacks on it. after hearin your truck i definitely think i am

  • i got them from Meineke but look at jegs summit racing or cherry bombs website itself for a link to the best place to buy them.

  • where did u get 8inch glass packs what website would i go to i got pulled over for no muffler on my s10 i like loud sound but i dont wanna pay to have it

  • Hahaha u got pulled over for no muffler, i am running Straight true duals no cats no mufflers on my s10 never got pulled over once yet and it is loud

  • Thanks man. Im gettin the cats takin out so ill get another video

  • i think is sounds better now that u put the bigger tips on good job man

  • naw man its a 2005

  • where did u get the glasspacks from

  • nice truck..is this an 02 model?

  • 2.5 inch from my cats back...in about a week the cats are comin off.

  • what size piping do you have?

  • Yep is does have the 2 stock cats on...but some time doon they are comin off

  • haha yeah the 8 inchers i wouldn even consider a muffler its a hollow metat tube so you can pass inspection in texas lol

  • awesome!! my 18 inchers aint loud enuff

  • whenever i get my longtubes im getting an H pipe for it and not runnin cats.

  • wow! did you just say you still have the cat's on?

  • an x pipe would make it sound better, imo.

  • my truck is ugly?

  • your trucks loud as fuck, but why attract attention when ur trucks ugly=]

  • yeah man they are cherry bomb 8 inch glasspacks

  • i bought them at our local exhaust shop but they had to be special ordered at the tiem since they were brand new and yes the shorter the louder. and i got the tips form our local place too. they are stainles 5 inch diesel tips.

And thanks southwillrise. after my headers i will get a new video up.

  • do you know the brand name of the glasspacks. My setup right now is longtube headers no cats and a magnaflow exhaust but didnt really like the magnaflow. and I love the sound of your truck.

  • the brand is Cherry Bomb.

  • sounds great dude

  • where did you buy the glasspacks from? Also does the lenght of the glasspack play a major role in the sound. and last but not least where did you find those tips. I've been looking for a 5" tip, but I want mine angled out the corners.

  • cherry bomb glasspacks

  • what kind of glasspacks?

  • No i had one but i cant find it. The sound was pretty good from it though but i wanted true duals and a little more ridiculous. I am hoping to get some long tube headers and run no cats in the near future.

  • definatley man it was pretty loud for a single in dual out muffler. If you wanted a good sound that was nasty but not true duals like mine it would be a good pick. And its priced good too.

  • yea it is dude i got 1 on my 91 k5 silverado blazer si/do its loud deep and it pops u got any vids of it with the extreme on ur silverado?

  • i just creamed my pants dude holy GOD

i love it the extreme prolly sounded good to right?

  • The tips alone were 175 and the 2 glasspacks were 35 a piece and all the piping and install was about 300 all together.

  • How much did that cost you
