I agree with Tara ... Joe Thrift, "might as well have written that song." Joe's vocals and accent are perfect for it. I love the song and the story. But I'm a bit confused by dTb song "Love and Gasoline" .... It seems be identical except for dropping most of the lyrics and adding a few. Is Love and Gasoline an answer to not being allowed to play Seminole Wind by John Anderson or whoever owns it ? .... Inquiring minds want to to know.
@JumpinJohnny0 What are you talking about, Fool?? None of the same lyrics, clearly not the same song. At most they have the same cord progression and can be played in the same key. Next time, think before posting comments.
Simple, but epic song... GREAT cover... with cascading guitar riffs playing counterpoint to that lonesome fiddle drone. Love to hear a banjer (since i play one)... but this is 'bout as good as it gets, especially the build up to the ending... sweet!
@dwalt148 :The band Donna the Buffalo (DtB) is amazing; from the band is Tara Nevins on fiddle ... for a look at another couple videos of awesome DtB videos to show their talent and scope:
goto to herd.tv (my youtube channel) and then open the DtB playlist and then watch:
(rowdy)
Conscious Evolution
and
(love ballad)
Let Love Move Me
(youtube won't let me embed URLs in this comment so you have to find them as per above instructions)
So I drove across the country back in '03 to be apart of Donna's first West Coast tour. Wish I could do it again. The guys I drove with well we've all drifted apart sense then and I daily wonder where they are.....From Boulder to Salt Lake up into Vegas OMG even LA we even celebrated Eugene. Come out Come out where ever you are?!?!?!?!
@TheRealMollyMaev : We were at the Eugene Celebration show, it was our first DtB show ever. Probably danced next to you on the rail :-) It was a great show too.
I listen to this song 3 or 4 times a month. Also helps if you have read SHADOW COUNTRY by Peter Mathiesson, great trilogy about the early days when Fla was the last frontier.
Au delà de l'interprétation excellente, des chanteurs comme des musiciens, les paroles de cette superbe chanson évoquent une perception du monde dont nous devrions appliquer les préceptes.
I've seen this song done so many times when Joe was in the band. This time it seems so forced like they are all on a different page. Too bad it didn't click. When this band is in sync. there is no mistaking it. I think Joe is a huge loss to the band, but here he just seems to be in a hurry, and Tara wants to make it great. 'Donna' has it's spontaneity that works both ways. Joe needs his Lowery in front of him.
You have to love the chemistry that is shared between Jeb, tara and good ol Joe Thrift ... Its been far too long since we have been to a show ... we love to see more shows on the west coast too .... Miss late night zydeco hoe downs ... long live the herd
love the words to this song, the guitar work and fiddle, can't go wrong; really gettin "Donna and the Buffalo!
