@DOTHEKOOPA i think it is the nether. if you look closly that thing in the backround looks like a ghast and since there is bedrock at both the top and bottom of the nether then it is possible that the nether just happens to be under the layer of bedrock on the surface world. that would explain the 8x travel distance as there would be less world to travel at the bottom

@gamerguy2k8 Problem with this is that the Minecraft world isn't a sphere. The world in this case is flat. The nether is not beneath the bedrock, it's a seperate plane. That's why it loads seperately every time you go from Minecraft Earth to the Nether and vise versa. If the world was round, this would make sense, but seeing as it is flat, the 8x travel distance wouldn't make any sense. It's just coded as a different world pretty much.

@Clumsyninja23 I'm not talking game/coding wise im talking lore wise in the game and coding the world is not round but really it should be it would just be a bit of an arse to program it that way and minecraft is better flat. i was just putting in my 2 cents on the nether and how it fits in with minecraft.
