For those saying that this is real, why is it that the 3 other surfers whom the shark passed by are just casually laying on their surfboards? Is this a typical reaction if you have a shark swim past you? Also, why would the shark swim into the shallows? Usually, you'd have the shark swim as far away from the jetty as possible. :S

@pikk0n1 Sharks swim close to the jetty sometimes because of the cruise ships. Some ships had been caught dumping food into the ocean. It was banned a few years back, but some say that there are ships that still dump food (in Miami Beach).

@santanajj91 Sorry about that. I should have been clearer about sharks and shallows since I know they do come in close during summer. What I meant was if hooked, they'd usually swim outwards into the deeper part of the ocean. Not into the shallows. That's why Shark fishermen take hours to land one. Nevertheless, thanks for your reply. I didn't know much about the ships in Miami. You learn something new every day. :)

THIS IS REAL!!! I was at Huntington Beach in CA when this was filmed. The guy screaming is Gary from Indiana, the cousin of the camera guy Chris, who I've known for years. We actually went back to his apartment and watched as he uploaded the footage and stuff. Pretty crazy considering the surfer looked like a bigger piece of meat in that red wetsuit!!
