finding John Piper more than a little scary to be honest... He teaches that God foreordained the lost to eternal wrath, and there's nothing they can do about it. The gospel, on the other hand, teaches all men to repent, and says that God loves them all, not willing that ANY should perish, that he provided all they need if they would but see the truth and turn. Redemption is available to all and accessible to all, hence the regret will be enormous when people realise they COULD have been saved.

You are correct. God did design this world, and sin entering this world did not surprise the One who is sovereign. So again, the answer to the question, "why does everyone have a sinful nature?" is that God loves us so much to send his only Son to pay the price for those who hate him! What a glorious show of affection! He did so even when we hated him! It is contrast of sin with righteousness that God's glory is made manifest to us!

Yes it would be, but helping the poor without spreading the Gospel is death. And this is the first step, if you don't look at yourself and say that God would be just in damning me, you're not a believer. Because the ultimate goal of the Gospel is one's happiness. And there can be no greater happiness than knowing that you have Jesus, a shield, to shield you from the wrath that you KNOW you deserve. And not only that but to be able to commune with the almighty, no greater happiness.
