BTW...Ellen White said the Bible was the sole authority....she was just a Christian who commentated on the Bible to help people see it clearer, that was the gift the Lord gave her. There are many preachers today doing the same thing....helping people, just like the prophets of old. True, many are not right in their interpretation, but let God judge them as well. As long as a life is surrendered to Christ and they come out of the world, Christ's Spirit can lead them to more light/truth.

Based off of the last 3 months of studying Revelation 13 (not many years like some), I have reached the conclusion so far, based off the Bible's interpretation of it's own symbols, the following:
The beast in the wilderness is a 5,000 year succession of 7 empires.
The beast out of the sea is a co-existing conglomerate of the same 7 empires.
The false prophet is an empire of two Christian nations.
I don't like private interpretations of the Bible, or especially ones supported by circular reasoning. Private interpretations makes it look like it's equally as legitimate as anyone else's private interpretation.
The Bible interprets the Bible. People can't go off the deep end trying to figure things out that they can't figure out from the Bible. The Bible interprets it's own symbols for you.
A very important key to understanding this "fire" is spiritualism and sciences of the mind. I wrote a paper on this very thing. In it I show how the sciences of the mind were at work in tandemn with spiritualism to develop this last day deception. This topic is very rich. If you are interested I will send you my paper.

"He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword." Rev. 13:10
This sword marked the "deadly wound" for this beast. So what in the Bible is represented by a sword? The common answer would be 'the Word of God', which is often true, but not here.
What kind sword did the papacy recieve its deadly wound by in 1798? The same as it was given in 538 AD, which marked the start
of the 1260 years reign. In Romans 13:1-4 we find the answer, also because the powers in Rev. 13 will use the civil authorities for enforcement as in Rev. 13:16-17, not the persuation of the words of God as in Eph. 6:17.
The words of Revelation 13:10 are also strikingly similar to:
"Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword." Matt. 26:52
So the sword that marks both the papacy's reign from 538AD to 1798AD
is the sword of the state. This is where the "beast" will get back its full authority, by again be given control of the civil governments "sword", thereby healing its "deadly wound" given in 1798.
Regarding the "fire from heaven" we have to look to this in its context. Rev. 13:13:
"And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
In the next verse we find that this power deceives all that dwell on the earth.
"And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live."
So we have wonders, that deceives the people on earth. We can see this already starting to take place from movements that sprang out of the second beast, the USA, with the counterfeit miracle movements, that brings fire down from heaven.
On a last note, I do agree with the fact that the papacy again recieved recognition in 1929, as a part of the wound starting to heal. But its final revival must be that it once again is given the "sword" of the secular governments, that it may enforce its dogmas with a revival of its power and tyranny.
The bible tells us that the second beast, or the USA will be the power that makes this happen.
