  • i loved this game soooooo much!

  • It's a hard life to be a ninja.

  • Man, i hated that dragon.. always (most of time) got owned by it x.x

  • I remember that the game handle-ling was so difficult

  • why you have eaten twice ? did you character was stoned ?

  • very advanced gameplay concepts for the time it was released

  • lol laffer you write your name number 1. :D great game, nice years.

  • Music!

  • @maanontv

Actually, I want to make a techno remix of it :)

  • @WinneTWO30 This is techno already :)

  • i played this so many times back in the days great game great computer

  • i have loads of memories with this one, a great game with excellent graphics and music with a half decent ending all in a single load. i did complete this way back then. it isn't a difficult game, but still much fun to return to and play nevertheless :).

  • This game was my first video game I ever owned! thanks mom for buying me a commodore 64 and this game!

  • Amazing game!

  • great game and great final sounds with some filters I suppose.

  • i wish i had a sword that controlled music

  • Classic! Ha!

  • HAHA, usagi's face at the left box is like he smoked marajuana all the day. xD

    Despict this nice game.^^

  • I've always wondered why the tall guy who's accompanied by a couple of Bebops never bows back.

  • @Makinx LOL bebops. I think because he is of a higher social class so must be bowed to.

  • @Makinx One enemy looks like Bebop and one Looks like Rock steady. Also This rabbit was in an episode of the Turtles! I wonder if there is a connection lol

  • @ojideagu The creator of both Usagi and the TMNT are friends, leading to the many, many crossovers.

  • Loved this game when I was a kid. I remember getting some 30 game pack. Most of the games were really crap, and hidden amongst them was this gem. Love the theme too :)

  • @cadbad I had that same pack, I can't remember the name but it was a box with about 5 tapes in.

  • Until this past winter, I had only heard the legend of this game. Then, my friend who is a video game collector picked up the C64 and also this game. I played it. I think this game is pretty tight!

It is time to put out a fresh 3-D version of it!

If enough people ask for it, it will happen. The question is, which company has the rights to the game, how much demand does it have, and who would turn down the opportunity to make tons of money off from it?

  • dude this beat is tight!

  • looks like bugsbunny at first

  • 4:52 - Perfect ninja camouflage ;-) always make me laugh.

    laffer35 thanks for this video!

  • I also I always arrived at this level of play.

But what we saw after ?

Can you tell me if there were other levels ?

    As the game ended ?

    Sorry for my language mistakes.

I do not speak English well.

    Thanks.

  • You can kill peasents which is fun.....downside to that is you have to commit sepuku......bum.

  • I played this game to death as a kid, I tried to download a ROM of it but could never find One that worked with the emulaor I had.

  • me too :D sooo fascinating

  • You play skillfully laffer35 !

Wish i had friends who would come to visit, attach C64 to telly and start playing and enjoy it like o do : )).

Everyone likes to have awesome graphics and everything :(.

Keep it real ! like you do

  • and I did finish it several times, one after another to just listen to that "outro" music : - )

  • ive played it as a kid, hehe i went to the end by running forward all the time :) and at the end i always killed the bitch :)

  • most exciting game i've ever played..about 15 years ago

  • hes a rabbit ? lol ?

  • That ending was kind of abrupt, but still an awesome game for it's time

  • Commodore 64 games were notorious for it.

  • you need glasses

  • They need to bring this to the Wii Virtual Console. Immediately.

  • Usagi must've done something to piss off the Neko ninja clan, lol.

  • It might not seem great now but at the time it was a really good game. I still enjoy it. Its a great series.

  • One of the better games for c64 and zx-spectrum. This is actually the first game that has elements of emotion in the game, where you nod your head to the oncoming creatures. If you don't they might find that insulting and start a fight with you. Great game.

  • yeah, your comment.

  • Good old times, great old games... Thanks for this movie, I enjoyed it very much :)

  • I had this game on the C64. Fuckin brilliant it was.

  • usagi had his own game i didn't know that

  • wow did not see i years, thats so cool!!

  • man this brings back memories -- used to love this game !!

  • the original spectrum 48k is much better

  • i had this myself spent many hours playing this

  • our commodore64 got screwed up....:(

  • wow. that ending WAS quick. thanks for the memories though :)

  • Thanks for posting this. I've played this game dozen of times, but I never really understood the sudden ending. I still don't. It feels like a tragic ending. Does anyone have any information about the soundtrack and if it can acquired?

  • Awesome soundtrack for such an old system. Love the music changes during the fights. The Buddhist saying are pretty deep as well. 5/5

  • i played this game in like 1987 or 1988. I still remember these scenes and this music. Memerizing game, the atmosphere is irresistable. How come this game is better than technologically superior games? Art has no formula.

  • This was great! I have sometimes been wondering if I ever managed to play to the end, but the panda princess and sunset were familiar. Now theres no need to dig up my C64 :)

  • Damn I loved eating the rice. To me that was the most revoltutionary part of this game.

  • ah the music when he takes sword... :D

  • classic. not my favorite... but still a classic. bruce lee and IK were much better though.

  • Great Game.

  • auahuahauah! i remember that first greet people and then kill them! great game great times!

  • I swear I have seen that samurai rabbit on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon :|

  • you would be right.

  • ha! i remember running around trying to kill everybody. no wonder i sucked at this game.

  • is that the rabbit from teenage mutan n. t. aka the trix rabbit

  • More than 15 years passed and I never forgot this game and its music... laffer, thanks a lot for sharing.

  • What really bugs me, is that the whole game is frikkin 6 minutes long!!! And I never made it through. Killed a lot of peasants and Mini-Dinosaurs, that's why... (;

    Thanks for childhood memories, mate.

  • Omg, the nostalgia! I got a C64 on my 8th birthday, back in 1988, and this was one of my absolute favorites, right after bubble bobble ;) Never got to the end of it though, thanks for revealing it :D 5/5!

  • Glad you enjoyed it :)

  • @ladulaser

Agreed! We were born in the same year it seems and this game was and IS truly awesome. Oh, the good old C64 times...

The true charm young gamers nowadays have no chance to understand.

  • @ladulaser same here :-) but i was 2 years older. thanks for upload :-)

  • It was good to see the ending. Never got that far. You're pretty damn good at games man (judging from this one and your other uploads)

  • I wish I had this game. I like Usagi Yojimbo.

  • So thats what happens at the end, I never managed to get that far! Thanks for posting, brings back memories...!

  • Though I'd never seen this game before, it sure brings back fond memories of the C64. Thanks for posting. Great rating here too :)

  • They call him both ronin and samurai. Makes no sense!!! Still, this game was completely awesome. One of my strongest childhood memories, is my mom trying to drag me away from this game, to go to the dentist. Haha. Good one. 5 stars from me.

  • Ronin is a word that the Japanese used (and still use today) to describe someone with no place to go. Ronin didn't have masters, and are simply unemployed samurai. Does that make sense? Nowadays, the word is used to describe one who doesn't go to school (usually because of failed entrance exams) OR have a job. Now you know!
