Favorite track of the game. The boss is pure hell though. If the insane amount of meteors didn't waste me, it's bat-shit insane amount of bullets would. It took me two lives and a continue to figure out I had to stop shooting the meteors and attack when he's FIRIN HIS LAZERS.

Blaster Cannon Core means such serious business... I was doing so well in this stage I was surprising myself and then I got to him. So many bullets. Everywhere.

if you'd like to know the truth about this core it's in the way his bullets is following you ^_^

you have to time your movements by taking the safest spots like hiding behind the huge meteors as a shield then moving quickly and slowing down again to time your moves to evade his bullets ^_^

oh and also you should be very careful when he stops the bullet shower attack XD to start evading the lasers and the exploding meteors to attack the core on your guard ^_^

Ergh, Late Reply-- But to Bullet Hell Shooter Players, that's called 'streaming'. Since most of the bullets are aimed at you, you only have to worry about where you're going to lead them. Like say, using the rocks to block the bullets. or just leading them to empty spaces. The game makes this boss look hard, but there just actually teasing you.

This stage is the only reason I cannot beat this game on hardest mode with revival start on, Blaster Cannon Core is extremely difficult to do on recovery play. And since boss timeout periods are very long on this game, I cannot wait it out before I get shot dead =(.

It makes me mad that it is more or less a clone of Dellinger Core from Gradius III, just with endless meteors from behind. And I beat Gradius III. Meh.

I wish I could record the songs off PS2. But, too there are too many sound fx.

at least this stage is still beatable even on hardest ^_^

the more they give you better chances to win the more intense the gameplay goes in this stage ^_^

you just have to trust your skills on your way to clear it ^_^

I manage to beat the boss in stage dying on very hard difficulty on September 18 2009. This stage has one of the coolest bosses even though the core is annoying. The music sounds like a desert.

well for me the stage music is not like a desert ... it is like the stage looks completely ^_^

the boss in this stage ( blaster cannon core ) is the 2nd hardest boss i've ever saw on all Gradius series XD

Oh I see. I thought some don't consider that as the hardest. I definitely agree though that it's the hardest. This is also hard though with so many bullets come flying at you not to mention asteroids XD.

actually stage 7 on loop 10 is the hardest one more than stage 5 on loop 10 because i've already tested them both on loop 10 ^_^

Interesting. I sounds like bubbles popping in the beggining and the overall soundtrack is epic. Gradius V has a magnificent soundtrack.

yes and it sounds like your moving in many different plants with too many rocks near you passing all around and it seems like your in some different dimensions ....... it's strangely reminds me of nemesis 2 msx stage 4 and Gradius 2 gofer no yabou stage 3 in only the stage looks not the music ^_^
