The Mass Effect series made me cry. Never do I cry. I can't even fathom how sad it is... especially the end. I make a decision to kill off a teammate, which made me cry because we went on quite a few missions before I got a different team member... then... Ashley, the one I saved is dead, in a pool of blood. No one survived...
I think that this soundtrack did an absolutely perfect job of capturing both the beauty of the scene including the raw emotion it encompassed, as well as the sense of dire urgency that surrounded the entire story of the game. It gave you the kind of feeling that I imagine someone spending their last night with a spouse or loved one feels, before going off to another country to fight a war.
oh man, i feel right into the Sheaprd character that i felt like i was there within the world and really interacting with its characters, Mass Effect is one of those rare game series you feel like its real :)
@SpoofsnSketches I agree with you there mate, I don't think any game will make me care as much about characters as dragon age origins did, but mass effect is a very close second.
hey if you filrt with ashley or kaidan and left them but if you liked them and they liked you would anyone on crew or team react sadly to this talking to you about it
@alferig101 Hell, I'm thumbing this up because you submitted it. I like this better than ME2's Reflection theme. I also think this the only video with this song up. Thanks again.
I don't know why, but this song reminds me of Saren; of how hopeless he must have felt when he first discovered the truth about the reapers; how he was forced to ally himself, first with sovereign, then with the heretic geth, and more than anything, how he slowly lost control of his mind. Something tells me, were he able to be saved in ME1, he would've become a valuable, if mistrusted, ally. At least in my ME1 playthrough, he took his own life along with what little dignity he had left.
@darthgueedo in my playthrouhg aswell.. love that option, not that he kills himself but that you could save what "humanity"(?) left in him... I now hes a turian but for lack of words -.-
i remember i wanted my character to be with only garrus in ME2 and so i created a relationship with Kaiden but let him die on Virmire. This music came afterwards and i stood where Kaiden stood before and regretted it.........But now i have Garrus, so yah
@michandre Wow, thats a little bit messed up... although I dont think its fair that the only romances for a male character are a prisoner and a black widow. great job, bioware.
Man, Bioware always does a great job with building emotional ties with video game charachters. I was heartbroken when I found out Kreia was sith, and deciding who to save was one of the toughest decisions I have ever had to make in front of a TV :P
That's not what scared me, it was the fact that when I DID kill Ashley, it played the Normandy music. O_o Perhaps there are things about me even I don't know!
@JesWalHok they know...... rofl jk I find this song has little to do with love more of a "Hey one of your friends was killed. Heres some sad music that might make you tear-y eyed. Have a nice day!"

Played it when I killed Kaiden (as Male Shepard), but not during the actual romance segments.

A game is a true succes if it inspiressuch feelings in the player.
Thanks Bioware. Keep up the good job.
