I was in 9th grade, in my biology class, when the dean of students came on the intercom and told the whole school that the towers had been hit. I remember everything. Later that day, amidst the chaos, my English teacher told us, "The towers are gone." I said "Gone?!" All he responded with was "They're gone..." I so distinctly remember trying to picture in my head how two buildings that big could just collapse, and be gone. It was so scary and confusing. I'll never forget that day...

Damn! I always realized the seriousness of the collapse, but I've never seen a clip of the second collapse from start to finish. All of that debris and smoke, I never new it traveled through the city at the magnitude. My god no wonder people were just recently showing signs of being affected by this event that happened almost a decade ago which people were suffering from respiratory problems.

I was only 6 when this happened. my mom came and got me from my classroom and rushed me home. the t.v was on and there was a tower burning and then, watching the t.v, a second plane hit. i was so scared because even though i was six, i knew a lot of people had died and even more were about too. We continued to watch the t.v, and then later the towers collapsed and me, my mom, my dad, and my brother stood in shock, knowing our country was under attack. R.I.P victims of 9/11 we will remember you!

damn that was bad, I was about 8 years old when this happened. I was camping with my family and my grandparents were still on there way and I was playing with my sister when suddenly my dad rushes out of the camper looking pale as a ghost while my mom was listening to the radio looking exactly the same and before I could ask what was going on I see our camping neighbors do the same thing and i turned my head and saw on another TV the first tower burning and I firgured it out.

I remember wen I was like in JK and this happened... I was wiht my mom in a mall when we saw this on TV... My mom stared at the TV and all i saw were sum burning towers... I didn't know what was going on and I never knew that very moment that I almost lost my uncle to Al Qaeda (if i spelled it right)

It really gets to me when I hear all the conspiracies about this after such a massive and devastating loss of life. It was nice to read your message because these days I feel like the only one who believes the truth...it should be remembered as a tragedy not treason...

My mother woke me up with a phone call when the news started reporting, I quickly ran to my roof top above my Brooklyn apartment just minutes before the 2nd plane did hit the south tower. I had a very clear view of everything.

I lived in Manhattan in 9/11 2001... my mom was evacuated from work & my school was closed down the next day. Everyone was going crazy & from my school window you could see the smoke in the air, but not the actual buildings.

I was in the 6th grade when it happened I had no idea what was going on while it happened. But I will never forget coming home seeing my mom and my dad sitting down watching CNN recap. I went to see what they were watching and the first thing i saw was the second plane hit. I will never forget it

I remember i was in year 6 when this happened. I came home from school (it was the afternoon in england) and i didnt understand why there were burning buildings on every TV station. Only when i see it now i realise how gut wrentching and sad it really was. I remember in the late afteroon some kids rode past my house and said "have you seen the towers falling down, its well cool!!" And my mum shouted at them. :(

Thank you for this. There are people wanting to claim that there "were no planes involved" and that the news media tricked people with special effects. Personal witnesses need to stand up against such stupidity and testify this is what they also saw with their own eyes.

I was working at Borders Bookstore at 5 World Trade Center. The first blast shook, actually rocked, the building and we all evacuated fast. EVeryone accounted for and fine. Not all of us can say that we witnessed history, but I can certainly say it.
