@rawrbucket123 not too much, but there was the scene when kyon was yelling at yuki about all the things they did, and some of the stuff was in season 2. so it dosent matter much, but if u want to understand what kyon was talking about the things he did with the SOS brigade you need to watch/read the stuff he did to fully understand. so it doesnt matter unless u want to understand a bit more clearly.

I did not find this season on animefreak.tv anywhere. I saw the last episode of the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya and it aired the next episode preview. So I figured there's a second season but it is nowhere to be found. There is the disappearance of haruhi suzumiya but it isn't dubbed and it is the fourth novel. Anyway, tell me about this season. Is it new and released just recently?
@Johny2662 In english dub, it was released in setember 14th 2010 I belive on DVD. It was sopose to be relesed in Agust but it sadly was pulled back because BANDI was having some trouble. In Japan, IDK when it came out but I geusse you can call it new. The season takes place in the middle of season 1. The way they realeased these episodes on TV is very weird. So when you watch these episodes some of the stuff they say in season 1 may be mentioned in season 2! ;)

@zaiba123 I bought the DVD and ripped the episodes to my computar and cut the episodes to size into 10 min limit and uploaded them on here. I got the DVD online on amazon im pretty sure it was. and there should be more copys on both amazon and ebay. It also came with a CD with the opening song and ending theme along with it! X)
@CxiBunneh yeah, as said in the discription I was released from my 10 AMV contract. I said on my channel if I wasent able to put up the second season of haruhi I would make 10 AMVs to make up for it. I was sadly not able to at the time and I think I was up to around 6 AMVs. Then I was able to post the episodes and I fliped out. I was so happy as you can see with all the flaws in the discription since i was typing so fast with excitment.
You're right about a LY being a distance. It is the distance covered in a period of time of one year. THEREFORE if the distance is 25 LY then the period of time for light to get there is THE SAME 25 YEARS. (To our reference) So there is nothing wrong and Yuki can get back to her book.
That's exactly my point. A light year is 6 trillion miles away, That's a distance. The distance that the light would travel in exactly one Earth year. So when she says it's 25 light years away she is adding on light for no reason. She can either say 25 years (since that's how long it will be) or 150 trillion miles away. It doesn't excuse anything because saying something is 25 light years away doesn't explain how long it takes it explains how far away it is.
Not exactly. Haruhi was perfectly fine by saying it was 25 LY away - LY is a distance. Now if she had said they would have had to wait 25 Light Years for the wish to come true - now THAT would be wrong!
You do not express time in Light Years, just like you do not (usually) say "I'll be at your house in 35 mph".
The cause of this confusion may be due to some people saying things like: "My uncle lives an hour away".

So wishes travel at the speed of light. (But they are answered / granted instantaneously regardless of light speed limits.) ... Listen to what they say.

Okay but those are two completely different videos. So what you're thinking of as Grammar Interpretation is a bit flawed. In actuality the way you're using grammar interpretation is where you know what she was TRYING to say. But my complaint is referring to what she actually said. See I knew what she meant, dont get me wrong. My complain stems from her misuse of the words. So yes, because of the Japanese version we know what she meant. But what she said is different.
First, she states the distance from Earth and the planets. Then she proceeds to say "it will take that long for our wishes to get there." In other words she is basically saying "it will take 25 light years for our wishes to be granted" which doesnt make sense. Thus, my complaint.
She explained that they were a distance but then said they'd take at least the time of that distance to reach the gods. That makes no sense. That was my complaint to begin with and it is still my complaint hehe. I hope this covers any confusion you had. And hey if I am wrong just write down exactly what she says explaining the wishes will travel the speed of light. Just write down the quote. That's all.

If you threw a baseball from 25 light years away, (thru space) it would be something like 276 thousand years before it got to this Earth. (Ball speed 100 km/hr.) ... But if you sent a video of you playing with the ball it would get here some 25 years later, then I'd know - knowledge that you did - but I'd never get my hands on that ball.

The seasons are pretty cofusing, but if you go on wiki it should have a list of the episodes in regular order. Right now we are in relese order on airings on T.V. Its really weird. Some of the episodes in season 2 should be in one, and alot of episodes in season 1 should be in season 2 and after the movie! XD DX Its really wierd but i can fallow.

I did not find this season on animefreak.tv anywhere. I saw the last episode of the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya and it aired the next episode preview. So I figured there's a second season but it is nowhere to be found. There is the disappearance of haruhi suzumiya but it isn't dubbed and it is the fourth novel. Anyway, tell me about this season. Is it new and released just recently?

@Johny2662 In english dub, it was released in setember 14th 2010 I belive on DVD. It was sopose to be relesed in Agust but it sadly was pulled back because BANDI was having some trouble. In Japan, IDK when it came out but I geusse you can call it new. The season takes place in the middle of season 1. The way they realeased these episodes on TV is very weird. So when you watch these episodes some of the stuff they say in season 1 may be mentioned in season 2! ;)

@zaiba123 I bought the DVD and ripped the episodes to my computar and cut the episodes to size into 10 min limit and uploaded them on here. I got the DVD online on amazon im pretty sure it was. and there should be more copys on both amazon and ebay. It also came with a CD with the opening song and ending theme along with it! X)

@CxiBunneh yeah, as said in the discription I was released from my 10 AMV contract. I said on my channel if I wasent able to put up the second season of haruhi I would make 10 AMVs to make up for it. I was sadly not able to at the time and I think I was up to around 6 AMVs. Then I was able to post the episodes and I fliped out. I was so happy as you can see with all the flaws in the discription since i was typing so fast with excitment.

You're right about a LY being a distance. It is the distance covered in a period of time of one year. THEREFORE if the distance is 25 LY then the period of time for light to get there is THE SAME 25 YEARS. (To our reference) So there is nothing wrong and Yuki can get back to her book.

That's exactly my point. A light year is 6 trillion miles away, That's a distance. The distance that the light would travel in exactly one Earth year. So when she says it's 25 light years away she is adding on light for no reason. She can either say 25 years (since that's how long it will be) or 150 trillion miles away. It doesn't excuse anything because saying something is 25 light years away doesn't explain how long it takes it explains how far away it is.

Not exactly. Haruhi was perfectly fine by saying it was 25 LY away - LY is a distance. Now if she had said they would have had to wait 25 Light Years for the wish to come true - now THAT would be wrong!
You do not express time in Light Years, just like you do not (usually) say "I'll be at your house in 35 mph".
The cause of this confusion may be due to some people saying things like: "My uncle lives an hour away".
I think that sort of thing is what you wanted to point out.

Yes she does. Beginning at 2:39, "it" -- wishes travel to Orihime(Vega) and Hikoboshi(Altair) at speed of light -- is implied in her initial explanation and the group then discusses the 25 and 16+ years it would take, and Haruhi again repeats the "fact" at 4:26 - talking about the time for the wishes THE SAME WAY as the time for light. So wishes travel at the speed of light. (But they are answered / granted instantaneously regardless of light speed limits.) ... Listen to what they say.

First off, I know you know you know what you're talking about - BUT - You've lost track of the question.
You originally pointed out LY was a distance, not a time unit. Some think because it has the word "year" it is a time period and "light" makes it more scientific. So they use it improperly. BUT NOW you''re saying wishes do not travel at light speed. ...WELL.
If Haruhi believes wishes will arrive at the SAME time as light does, (as she PROCLAIMED at 2:39 & 4:26) -- THEN THEY DO!

My initial complain was that she said light was a period of time. Which she did. She didnt proclaim at any point that it was going to travel the speed of light. Or at least I didnt see her say it when I wrote down what she said word for word. So my initial complain still stands.Her exact words were "The distance from the Earth to Vega is 25 Light Years, and for Altar it's 16. How about: "So the trick is to make wishes you'd want to come true 25 or 16 years from now." (Meaning WISHES would take the SAME TIME & SPEED as LIGHT over the 25 & 16 LY distance.)
And also: "Make sure you guys remember the wishes you made today, it's only 16 years before the first batch comes true" (Again proclaiming wishes travel at the same speed as light to Altair.)
...Altair is actually 17 LY.

See but that's the point. She doesn't say that they go the speed of light. That's her mistake. She proclaimed they'd get there in 16 and 25 light years. Again let restate the quote itself. However, let me break it down a little so you see her mistake.

WHOA !! - Haruhi NEVER said: "They'd get there in 16 and 25 LIGHT years" She just said "years" and no LIGHT before that word. Haruhi DID say Vega and Altair were LY away, but all references to WHEN were just "years", and not "light years".
BESIDES if she said anything contrary to laws of science and physics - they'd CHANGE !!

Okay fair enough point, so allow me to ask you this: if she said it on the contrary (like she did) and the laws of physics wouldve changed. Why didnt they change? They obviously didnt, so because of that she still said something incorrect.

Your understanding of LY, time and space is fine, but your English comprehension, not so much.
This is a case of "Agreement in English Grammar". View this video in original Japanese and it comes out as - "it will take 16 to 25 YEARS to reach its respective star". The English version said: "That means it will take at least THAT MUCH TIME to reach those stars."
Japanese stated: "25 to 16 years to reach", English just said "that much time" in the same place. -- Grammar interpretation.

Okay but those are two completely different videos. So what you're thinking of as Grammar Interpretation is a bit flawed. In actuality the way you're using grammar interpretation is where you know what she was TRYING to say. But my complaint is referring to what she actually said. See I knew what she meant, dont get me wrong. My complain stems from her misuse of the words. So yes, because of the Japanese version we know what she meant. But what she said is different.

That was my complaint to begin with and it is still my complaint hehe. I hope this covers any confusion you had. If you threw a baseball from 25 light years away, (thru space) it would be something like 276 thousand years before it got to this Earth. (Ball speed 100 km/hr.) ... But if you sent a video of you playing with the ball it would get here some 25 years later, then I'd know - knowledge that you did - but I'd never get my hands on that ball.
That's what Haruhi was saying about the wish - Wish on Vega 25 LY away would take 25 years to be granted. -- Wishes travel at light speed.

dude i srsly dont get this show..i friggin watched the whole season 1. is it always a different story every episode?? its never in order grr i hate it..but still its an awesome :D. and is there a site where you can watch this normally?

@RoboSquiMonk well, IDK if there is a site, but one thing I can tell you is that you should read the manga and Novel. The manga so far is at book 8. The seasons are pretty cofusing, but if you go on wiki it should have a list of the episodes in regular order. Right now we are in relese order on airings on T.V. Its really weird. Some of the episodes in season 2 should be in one, and alot of episodes in season 1 should be in season 2 and after the movie! XD DX Its really wierd but i can fallow.
