  • And yet women keep saying they don't get head.

  • she was amazing!

  • WONDER HISTORY.. SALOME

  • Great dance costume

  • They should have played that dance from Salome by R. Strauss - would have been awesome with Rita.

  • 182 people here have brains and taste. The remaining 4 are brainless.

  • seduction a'la Rita Hayworth-step by step

  • She is so beautiful I can't even stand it .

  • Put the blame on Mame.

  • Now that's what I call a striptease!

  • Everybody loves Rita Hayworth, beautiful, marvellous as always. Just forget about the history and simply look at this splendid woman dancing beautifully....There is or was only one Rita Hayworth, for ever in our memories and our hearts....Thanks for posting this. An admirer from Switzerland.

  • @ForEverGilda Have you seen her performance "Hermanito de mi corazon" from "Loves of Carmen"?

    It's sensational!

  • @B0RSALIN0

Hello Borsalino. Yes, I did. A long time ago in a theater, then on DVD. Your message reminds me that I should watch this picture again as soon as possible. Glenn Ford is a bit out of place but Rita, WOW!!! "Down to Earth" for instance is not a good film but watching Rita dance at the beginning in her green dress is an enchantment. She is bewitching as well in a so-so movie, "Affair in Trinidad", in two dance numbers. Fortunately we have DVDs to remind us how beautiful she was....

  • @ForEverGilda She was absolutely stunning! <3

  • The real Salome and probably the real Delilah were, likely as not somewhere in the 16-18 year old range. Both Hedy Lammar [as Delilah] and Ms. Hayworth [as Salome] were a bit long in the tooth for real portraits. Still who could argue. Looking at them one could really see how it is possible for a single woman to change history. . Thanks for the upload. I went to see this with my beloved dad, first-run in NYC. Glorious Rita Hayworth and a super-size Baby Ruth bar...heaven!

  • A Bíblia não fala sobre qual foi a dança que Salomé dançou, mas dá a entender muito bem a entender que ela ficou horrorizada e que a cabeça de João Batista foi um pedido da mãe dela a rainha Herodias.

  • I was expectin Akhmed to appear and say I'll Keell You!

  • BELLISIMA

  • this girl went to through major transformation back in the 40s changing the hair line was extremely painfull not like now!and her hair use to be black before she became a star@but no nose transformation

  • Could've been a scene right off of Star Trek.

  • the most beautiful women IMO were from the 40s, 50s and 60s. Not fat and not skinny...just wright

  • who the balls dares dislike this??!

  • SUBLIME

  • Gorgeous is all I can say.

  • I have never seen this film, but from what I read about it the character of Salome is portrayed by Hayworth as being remorseful for her part in the death of John the Baptist. In reality I doubt the real Salome was remorseful although not much is said about her in the Bible after her captivating presense in the halls of King Herod.

  • Dinners ready!

  • Hey, it's not easy for a stripper to get ahead in this world!

  • Does anyone know which of nowadys actress could dance like this today and yet seem so natural?

  • He looked like the happiest man I've ever seen.

  • BADDDDDDDD TIMING WITH THE HEAD!! GREAT DANCING & ACTING BY RITA

  • What a Goddess!

  • This is splendid pageantry and dance....how beautiful!

  • No botox, no plastic surgery and she blows the doors off any actress these days. They all did....Natalie wood, Rita, Ingrid..the list goes on and on. Give me Rita Hayworth over Megan Fox any day of the week and twice on Sunday

  • @rpotto18 amen, couldn't have said it better

  • @rpotto18 she did have a surgery on her nose, or so i've heard. but still - one of the greatest!

  • @oljkin No, she didn't. They only raised her hairline a little.

  • poor herode's having very hard time

  • Good God she was fine!

  • Rita was half-Spanish. Her mother was of English-Irish descent and was once a chorus girl. The dancing talent comes from both sides.

  • Speechless. . .

  • @babygirl..they plucked it so she did not have the widow's peak at her forehead

  • @Willowdared After the electrolysis treatment Rita still had a widow's peak.

  • Amazing! What is there to dislike?

  • @Cance251 5:04 Oh, nevermind.

  • greatttttttt

  • Props to the costume designer on this one.

  • Did not like the severed head ,but a beautiful actress

  • classic stars with classic beauty.....non-plastic, no surgery that is the secret

  • @Makiba08 She was beautiful but she actually did have some stuff done to look the way she did. Not plastic surgery but she did completely change her looks and name. She was born Margarita Carmen Cansino a Latina woman. The studio raised her hair line, dyed her hair, and changed her name to make her Rita Hayworth.

  • @Babygirl2986 Wow I did not know that she was Latina....well that explains the beauty. Thank you for that information. BTW how di they raise her hair line?

  • Charles Laughton likes the can can dance!

  • This is part of 'The Dance of the Seven Veils' from the 1953 movie "Salome." As well as Rita Hayworth as Salome we see Charles Laughton as Herod and Judith Anderson as Herodias.

  • Lovely Rita!!!! she was one of the most brillant actresses!!! Her costume was as beautyfull as her!!

  • Rita Hayworth in "Salome": one of his most brilliant performances

  • one of the silliest films ever BUT she is so gorgeous in it. The 7 veil costume is beautiful !

  • what is this from?

  • is there any dance she can't do?

  • @oksoyeah

I have to disagree.. I LOVE RIta, and her dance in Gilda (put the blame on me) will always be my favorite Hollywood movie dance ever.

But this oriental inspired dance is VERY poor. Looks like your average broadway dance poorly adapted to orientale.. no action in the midsection, little action in the hips. she should have watched Egyptian movies from the 30s and 40s (when was this filmed?), and have taken inspiration from Samia Gamal or Taheya Carioca. this is not good ;)

  • i was eating when that head showed....not good.

but rita is amazing as always <3

  • ha ha

  • Everything was going fine untill the severed head showed up! hahahahahaha

  • I'm pretty sure Salome wasn't a red haired white woman, but okay. haha

  • St. John's head on a platter, not a pretty way to end a dance. I thought the old guy was going to have heart failure watching her remove those veils. Great stuff. Thanks.

  • i think Rita was just perfect as Salome. and also as Carmen, partly cause shes such a great dancer.

  • one of the most beautiful actresses ever.

  • Comment removed

  • @IluvKenji Indeed! She got prettier with age too! <3

  • She's so beautiful. This is the best part of the movie.

  • Increíble escena, la cabeza de Juan el

    Bautista en la bandeja.

    Excelente video de aquella maravillosa

película Salomé con Rita Hayworth bailando la danza de los 7 velos.

    Felicitaciones.

    Graciela.
