@andygjata Portnoy isn't with them anymore, he's doing something else with Symphony X's singer, Arin Iijey is the new drummer. And yes, only for that one part they used the Rev's voice, even when Portnoy was with A7X.

i reckon he's following the parts so much because he's obviously had to study the songs hard in a short amount of time. its too much to ask for loads of improv so soon. they are hard songs to play! also its prob in respect of jimmy, he's also nervous and concentrating really hard. plus i bet people would complain if he did improv. i think he did a great job. welcome to the family!

@topcat2726 well Portnoy did too much improv, that's why they gave him the boot. Jimmy's parts are more than you need, and this guy knows it. If he does stay with the band, I'm sure he'll try to duplicate Jimmy's style (as hard as that would be) instead of making a new one like Portnoy did. Arin is unreal btw.
