Make Me Your Man came out on a seven inch single as well, with Here I Come Miami on the flipside. Not sure which side I prefer, both are good. But Here I Come Miami is "Side 1" on the 45.
Don't quote me on this, but I think the back cover says that the photo was taken in Mayfield Heights. Not that that means the group was FROM there, of course.
Ah, the days when there were still regions in pop music. Today all the radio stations are owned by the same, like, 3 companies, so national top 40 is all you get, and you get it the same way everywhere in the United States.
Prob. true, good point, but honestly, a big hit here. BTW, I'm glad you have the great taste you do, but it also begs the question as to why you're not listening to the same dung that the majority of your 'demographic' do? Ya know, that non-musical dogshit known as hip-hop, rap, techno, ad nauseam?
Up until now, I had only heard "Hold Me". Thanks for posting these great songs. (I'll have to dig out my 45 of "Hold Me" one of these days as I didn't see it on youtube.)
Yeah, "Hold Me" made Billboard's Hot 100, so it's probably their best known song, but personally I've never felt it's anything special. I prefer this earlier garage stuff.
It's fascinating how the best didn't always reach the public. I really enjoy hearing what didn't make it to airplay. There are usually some gems like this just waiting to be heard. Thanks for posting them so we can have the fun of discovering them.
Even still, it was their only song to make the national charts: #81 unless I'm much mistaken. I'm thinking about making a new Hounds video that would include "Hold Me," but I just haven't had a chance.
The Stones "borrowed " extensively from other bands. Ask the Liverpool Five whose fuzz guitar on 'Everythings Allright" was ripped off for "Satisfaction". I always liked the Baskervilles.
The have a myspace site and seem to be still together; don't know any of the original band members' names but the myspace site has the current members' names. Any ideas anyone?
They claim the Rolling Stones heard them play it when they opened for the latter at Public Hall and then the Stones turned it into "2120 S. Michigan Avenue" on one of their records.
My Grandmother Gloria knew Larry Meese. These guys are great... See how old they are!!!

I saw them play at the "Corral" back in the day. Of course I figured out how to play Space Rock on my Hagstrom bass :)

Great YouTube find! My brother was in the band (after the album) for a while, and it was very cool to hear some of their music again!

Sounds a bit like Every Mothers Son - and those sleeve notes are just like the ones on the first EMS album. I like it!

I always loved 'Hold Me', and find it amazing that it only reached # 81 as it received tons of airplay in KS. Good tunes here anyhow--

This just sounds like second rate Beatles' tunes. There were way better garage rock bands.
