I'm so sick of hearing about Bruce Lee! If any of you say you're MMA fighters and think that Bruce Lee back then could beat any tough competition today you're insane! I'm a cage fighter myself and can honestly tell you that kung fu although it has some submissions and good striking is way too unorthodox to be effective in modern day MMA. Good kickboxers with jiu jitsu background would kill bruce lee in every aspect of the game.

And by the way, what we call mixed martial arts was not even truly formed until Vale Tudo in Brazil or the UFC in America which was by the way started by the Gracies. Ya, I'll go there and I will talk shit. If you've ever watched Pride you'll realize that just about all of the Asian fighters get their asses kicked. The only Asian I've ever seen who is a really good fighter is Yushun Okami. And who gives a fuck if he invented MMA, Gracies invented the UFC and Royce Gracie isn't even that good. So what if Bruce Lee taught other martial arts styles in his own? He was untrained in grappling arts, besides jeet kune do teaches you to lead with your power hand.

There are no great secrets to martial arts. Anyone who works hard can be good at it. And yes I have seen fighters from Thailand, I don't know about Hong Kong, but Nick Diaz fought a fighter from Hong Kong in the octagon and destroyed him. And who cares if you've been there, you've never fought there. A guy I train with went to Thailand for 6 months to train in muay thai and no he did not become a body bag. And Shaolin monks whooping high class MMA fighters? That made me laugh to read that.

Helio gracie didnt do anything, he says he changed ju jitsu to enable maximum efficiency with minimum effort. EXACTLY how judo was created. Theres more history than just the shamrocks, gracies, and bruce lee. Bruce was ahead of his time. I truly respect the guy. His jeetkunedo was a mixture of technique and sadly become lost due to his early death. Before UFC/pancrase/Vale-Tudo - has been other forms of grappling/wrestling/fighting. Theres no first, just forgotten history no matter how specific you want to be. The Gracies helped put grappling back on the map & the shamrock's helped evolve it. I respect them all + others.

The shorts, the Gloves, the kicks, punches, takedowns & submissions. A tap out is all the proof u need. Frank Shamrock's early UFC matches resembled that. Actually winning a superfight did not qualify Ken as champ. And he drew in the first superfight. Jeet Kun Do is one 1 style and Bruce freed himself of styles after it. And the gracies are more responsible for MMA than anyone because they showed the world that you had to incorporate a ground game to be complete. That actor never fought a real opponent you ever heard of if at all and the Gracies were welcoming all challengers even before he was born.

Frank wasn't losing that fight. He was winning on two judges cards. You don't win by only take downs. Baroni took Frank down as well. Renzo did nothing when he took Frank down. Frank was pushing the action and it was Renzo's fault that the fight got stood up for doing nothing. I like Renzo but that was some LNP by Renzo.
