@rrpalk What about British Airways? I'm taking a 7 hour flight to London then another 2 hour flight to Italy..I think the plane is a 747....I'm a VERY nervous flyer..I'm departing from New York (where I live)... you think I'll be okay?
@oblivion292 Far as I can tell British Airways has not had a fatal incident since 1976, and the 747 definitely has a good reputation, especially as it has a very high number of redundant systems.
well, gotta remember. At least in the US that driving is more dangerous than flying, so if you are going to travel, one in 700,000 or whatever you quoted is better odds than being killed in a car wreck going somewhere. Can't live your life in fear but i do agree that you should increase your odds whenever you can.
Hi Matt! I've just found you here on YouTube & I would like to say that I pay extra money just to fly with the top airlines i.e. BA & LH when I fly back home to London. As you mentioned, especially with cut backs & such, I never want to fly with (as I call them) "Never come back Airlines!" I love watching Aircrach Investigation & I have been critisied for mentioning the above! But it just goes to show with this amazing landing on water with flt 1549 & the heroics of that captain Sullenberger...
Cont/... One's chances of survival is much higher! Plus I don't like flying!!! I ALWAYS take note of the emergency procedures on every flight I'm on & I even try to get the seat over the wings near the emergency exit (Safest place I'm told by cabin crew!).
